REVIEW: Pop Evil – Onyx

Aritst: Pop Evil
Album: Onyx
Label: eOne
Genre: Rock

In the twelve years since their inception, Michigan’s Pop Evil have undergone their fair share of changes. Members, style, labels, you name it and there is a decent change the group has made some kind of tweak in the last decade. This is not a complaint, however, as every new evolution of the group has made them a tighter, more focus band. Since 2010′s War Of Angels the group has again undergone changes, including the addition of drummer Chachi Riot and guitarist Nick Fuelling, as well as their decision to not …

Pop Evil Stream “Goodbye My Friend”

Michigan bred rockers Pop Evil have released a stream of a new song entitled, “Goodbye My Friend.”

The second song to surface off the group’s forthcoming album Onyx, “Goodbye My Friend” is a bass heavy rock track about being betrayed by someone close to you. Compared to the lead single “Trenches,” this song shows much more progression for the group from their last album, and the lyrics are some of the strongest in modern rock today. Vocalist Leigh Kakaty commands the mic, with his signature soaring vocals giving hope amidst even the bleakest of song, and the …

MUSIC VIDEO: Pop Evil – “Purple”

Michigan’s Pop Evil have released the official music video for their latest single, “Purple.”

Serving as the third single to get the video treatment off War of Angels, the latest from Pop Evil finds the rock act venturing into ballad territory. While I understand that may not sound all that appealing to some of our hard rock readers, let me assure you this is one sappy track that packs a lot of punch. “Purple” has long been a personal favorite of mine, and now it seems poised to win over hearts around the world.
