Drew and Alex have taken the French indie rockers’ radio-ready jam and given it a party-friendly makeover with somewhat of a disco edge, inciting Breakfast Club dance moves and as much as …

WATCH: Phoenix – Live On Letterman (Full Set)

Every now and then, David Letterman is kind enough to do more than just be our least favorite talk show host and let some (usually) cool bands play full length sets for his audience. The Foo Fighters in suits come to mind (complete with their rad performance of “Stacked Actors,” which may be my favorite Foo performance ever). Recently, Letterman had indie rockers Phoenix go at it.

On air, they performed “Trying To Be Cool.” Off air, they did a full set. You can watch the single song or the full concert here after the jump.

Stream Phoenix’s New Album, ‘Bankrupt!’

One week before its official release date, Phoenix has teamed up with iTunes and are currently streaming their new album, Bankrupt! The long-awaited album is the band’s first since their highly acclaimed 2009 release, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.

The typical Phoenix fan will notice a slight change in musical direction, as the band heavily leans on synthesizers to carry a lot of the work load on this album. While experimentation with synthesizers isn’t exactly something new to Phoenix’s repertoire, they still manage to deliver those classic indie-pop melodies we’re accustom to hearing from lead singer, Thomas Mars.

Phoenix Announce First Live Dates For 2013

Parisian indie poppers Phoenix are hitting the road again! Yay!

But they don’t have any dates scheduled for the United States – continental, contiguous, or otherwise – yet! Boo!

Let me explain. The French band hasn’t played live for over two years since they wrapped their support tour for their breakthrough album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. It was downtime well deserved. In the interim, Thomas Mars had a baby with wife Sofia Coppola. The band did some movie scoring. Aside from that, little news trickled out of Phoenix’s camp.

But now Phoenix is gearing up for the release of …

The Classic Crime premiered the official music video for their song, “The Precipice,” today.

“The Precipice” is off of The Classic Crime’s newest release, Phoenix, acting as a sort of power ballad for the band. The song may even be perfect for trendy weddings and engagements.

The video shows frontman Matt MacDonald running around a fancy, seemingly English, mansion before finally gathering the group together to perform in the ballroom.

Phoenix’s Next Album Coming In 2013

Indie rock band Phoenix have had four albums, but their last effort, 2009′s Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, was what really made them take off. In an interview with Rolling Stone, their album head, Daniel Glass of Glassnote Records, said they had finished recording their new album and would release it in 2013.

The band’s website says “ALBUM IN PROGRESS” while also advertising some artwork that says TPC on it. As to what TPC would stand for if that is indeed the album title, I have no idea.

UTG INTERVIEW: The Classic Crime

Seattle, Washington rockers The Classic Crime have been consistent with releasing a laudable effort every two years since their 2004 inception, beginning with Albatross in 2006 and leading up to their best to date; fourth studio album and do-it-yourself Kickstarter success story, Phoenix.

After leaving Tooth and Nail records in July of last year, The Classic Crime decided to take the independent route and test the power of their fan base by utilizing Kickstarter to aid in funding their next creation. At its completion, Phoenix was the ninth most funded musical project on the crowd-funding platform, nearly tripling their …

Former Tooth & Nail Records alternative rock band, The Classic Crime, will be releasing their fourth album, Phoenix, on August 14. Phoenix will be the Classic Crime’s first album since 2010′s Vagabonds, subsequently the last album TCC released on Tooth & Nail Records. The Classic Crime decided to release Phoenix independently.
