Pharrell Cries “Happy” Tears With Oprah And The Internet Explodes

As if you needed another reason to love Pharrell after watching his killer performance at Coachella this past weekend, a new video making the rounds online today proves the guy is as humble as they come.

Pharrell recently sat down with Oprah to talk about life and his career in music, which has seen a significant upswing in recent months thanks to the relentless success of the single “Happy.” It’s the kind of song you know even if you swear you never listen to top 40 radio, and it has probably been stuck in your head at least …

Pharrell Brings All His Friends Onstage For An Excellent Coachella Performance

Mr. Do It All and suspected vampire Pharrell Williams took the stage in Indio, California Saturday night (donning his gone-viral hat that aids in preventing wildfires and appears to double as a bird house) for a guest-filled (and dust-filled) set that seemed to wow those in attendance. Throughout his 18-song performance Pharrell brought Nelly, Busta Rhymes, P Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Tyler, The Creator, and Diplo onstage for various tracks as the desert dust progressively took a toll on Lil’ Skateboard P’s pipes.

Toward the end of his set, Pharrell could hardly sing at all, finally giving up during …

Woodkid Happy Pharrell

Hear Woodkid’s Sad Remix of Pharrell’s “Happy”

Leave it to the always brilliant Woodkid to turn Pharrell‘s “Happy” into a sad, sad song.

Woodkid, a Polish-born, French-raised musician known for his beautiful orchestral pop, took Grammy and Oscar nominated ”Happy” and slowed it down into something similar to an Adele tear-jerker. Now filled with strings and solo piano, the song takes on new chords that work together to move your heart instead of your feet.

Considering Woodkid has also directed music videos for Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey, and Rihanna, it may be best that this remix doesn’t have accompanying footage. That could just make us …

Beck Announces North American Tour

With the release of his latest album Morning Phase, Beck is packing up and heading out on a North American tour in about a month’s time.

The self-appointed loser of the ‘90s has been pretty busy the last couple months. He had the new album, worked with Pharrell and even performed on SNL. So adding a tour to the list of things he’ll do is not a surprise, but dropping a second album this year is.

Word is that Beck will release another album later in 2014 that balances out Morning Phase. This won’t be before he …

Despite having gone nearly a decade without a full-length release, Pharrell has remained a towering figure throughout the music community. Pharrell Announces New Solo Album ‘G I R L’

Riding the wave of an extremely successful 2013, Pharrell has announced plans to release a new solo album, his first in eight years, in 2014. Titled G I R L and due out for release on March 3, Pharrell claims that the album is “rap-free” and is more like his 2013 single “Happy” than his previous solo material.

Pharrell topped charts many times in 2013, with feature spots on Robin Thicke’s massive summer song, “Blurred Lines,” and in the epic return of Daft Punk in “Get Lucky.” “Happy” was used as a theme song in Despicable Me 2 and featured …

Required Listening: Future Featuring Pusha T, Pharrell, and Casino – “Move That Dope”

Go ahead and cancel the rest of your work day. The track Future has delivered this afternoon is so good you will want to drop whatever you have left to do, crank the nearest sound system, open all the windows, and go absolutely batshit insane for its entire runtime.

Going in on a Mike Will beat that is bound to become a favorite on the freestyle circuit, Future reminded everyone why he’s constantly in headlines this afternoon with the release of “Move That Dope.” The song pairs the rapper/singer with Pusha T, Pharrell, and Casino for a series of monster …

Stream All Five Oscar Nominees For ‘Best Original Song’

The 2014 Oscar nominations were revealed this morning in Los Angeles, and in the hours since the internet has been a hotbed for discussion and rage. This is nothing new, of course. It seems there is no way for the Academy to please everyone, and this year like all the ones that came before is littered with bad picks and ridiculous snubs (depending on who you ask). We will probably do our fair share of complaining as the ceremony approaches, but for now we want to celebrate those who were selected as today is still a special one for each …

Daft Punk to Perform With Pharrell, Nile Rodgers, and Stevie Wonder at Grammys

It’s time viewers everywhere unanimously lose themselves to dance. We already know that Daft Punk will be delivering their first live performance in support of Random Access Memories ever at the 2014 Grammy Awards later this month. But now, considering how big the event (and the band) are, we find out France’s electro-duo have something up their sleeves.

In a recent interview (that’s also him trying on clothes), drummer Omar Hakim, who contributed to several tracks on RAM, confirmed he’ll be performing with the duo at the Grammys. He gave more details about the performance, like the fact that …

Pharrell Working On New Album, Will Not Be Rapping On It

In a recent and ridiculously in-depth interview with Complex,  legendary producer and performer Pharrell Williams said that he is currently working on a follow-up to 2006′s In My Mind, his most recent full-length.

Currently, details regarding the album are scarce, however, Pharrell has made one thing clear–he will not be rapping on the release, attributing this change in direction to age, marriage, and parenthood.

“I love rapping, but–something’s coming, and I’m not rapping on it,” Pharrell said. “It’s focused. Like I told you, that’s the difference between 30 and 40. ‘Cause I was 30, and now I’m 40–and …
