The Summer Slaughter Tour 2013 Line-Up Announced

We’re admittedly fashionably late on this one but we’d never disregard posting about the most extreme tour of the year. The popular Summer Slaughter Tour is back for its eighth year (seventh consecutively), and the participating bands have been announced.

The Summer Slaughter Tour 13 will be headlined by none other than recent Sumerian Records signees and longtime mathcore gods, The Dillinger Escape Plan, with support from other beloved metal outfits such as Animals As Leaders, Norma Jean, Periphery and animal lovers, Cattle Decapitation. MUSIC VIDEO: Periphery – “Scarlet”

There is legitimately no better way to start any day than with a little rock and roll.

After weeks of promotion, Periphery have finally released the official music video for their latest single, “Scarlet.” The visuals take fans on an intergalactic journey to a spaceship that finds itself divided between factions of red and yellow soldiers, all portrayed by members of Periphery. Their battle has reached new heights, and it seems yellow may have won, but the latter half of the clip reveals there is more to the story. You can view video below.

Periphery Added To Deftones US Tour

As of last night, Periphery have been included on what could be considered the band’s latest and greatest opportunity yet: opening for Deftones on the band’s Spring headlining tour of the US.

Fueled and powered by multi-layered assault of guitars that use only the thickest of strings, along with a live-orchestra, this record is already among my favorite technically-minded albums of 2012.

Well, ladies and djentleman, your favorite prog-metal band have released a new track from their upcoming full-length, Periphery II: This Time It’s Personal. The song is called “Scarlet” and if you’re a fan, you’ll probably dig it. I feel like I’m the only metal fan in the world that gets nothing from this band. Periphery Announces New Full Length, Due July 3

Washington, DC djent-metal band Periphery announced to Guitar World that they will be releasing their newest full-length on July 3.

The band’s sophmore release will be coming out on Sumerian Records, and has yet to be titled. The metal-heads on the staff are really excited about this release, and they are sure to deliver on this follow up to their 2010 self-titled and their 2011 EP Icarus.
