Spencer Sotelo: From First To Last “In No Way Affects My Commitment And Position In Periphery”

Earlier this week, it was announced that Periphery frontman Spencer Sotelo would be joining From First To Last on their upcoming, Kickstarter-funded release. While this is exciting news for both camps, it prompted concerns from Periphery fans about the state of the band and Sotelo’s future plans. Periphery Frontman Spencer Sotelo Joins From First To Last

Well, this was certainly unexpected.

Alternative Press is reporting that Periphery frontman Spencer Sotelo has joined From First To Last and is currently working with the band to finish their upcoming album. The announcement was made with a video statement from the band, which included a clip of Sotelo adding vocals to one of FFTL’s biggest hits. You can view that video on AltPress.

It is unclear at this point just what From First To Last have planned with their new release, but given the fact the clip teases a classic track it’s not impossible to imagine Sotelo fronting …

Periphery Announce Experimental New Project, ‘Clear’

I’m a sucker for concept albums and bands challenging themselves to write and record in interesting ways, and I’m also a big fan of jaw-dropping guitar work and time signature changes. All of those elements will come together on Periphery‘s new project, Clear. Each member of the band was given primary creative control on one song, all the way through the actual recording process, but all of the songs are connected through melodic callbacks to an overture track.

The band is hesitant to call Clear, out January 28, an album or an EP, instead stating that it …

MUSIC VIDEO: Periphery – “Scarlet”

There is legitimately no better way to start any day than with a little rock and roll.

After weeks of promotion, Periphery have finally released the official music video for their latest single, “Scarlet.” The visuals take fans on an intergalactic journey to a spaceship that finds itself divided between factions of red and yellow soldiers, all portrayed by members of Periphery. Their battle has reached new heights, and it seems yellow may have won, but the latter half of the clip reveals there is more to the story. You can view video below.

To many, this is a match made in alternative metal heaven. Or hell. I mean, we are talking about …
