Classic punk fans, get ready to empty your wallets. This week’s edition of Weekly Wax is full of reissues from the golden age of the Epitaph Records catalog, including early releases by Pennywise and Millencolin, as well as the first Punk-O-Rama compilation. Watch Pentimento Frontman Perform “Just Friends”

Last fall, Buffalo, New York’s Pentimento released their latest EP, Inside the Sea. The four powerhouse tracks on the record are the band’s best yet, and they served as further proof that Pentimento will be an exciting band to watch in the coming months and years.

Frontman Jerry Pauly recently sat down with Punk World Views to perform an acoustic version of “Just Friends,” one of the highlights of the aforementioned EP. Check out a video of the performance after the break.

Troy Sennett’s ‘Best of 2013′ In Music

Let’s talk about moments.

Around 5:00 PM on June 8, 2013, I watched Spitalfield play “Stolen From Some Great Writer” to an empty theater. This was a band I never thought I would have the chance to see live soundchecking for a ten-year anniversary performance of Remember Right Now, a record that had a huge impact on me as a musician and as a person in my early teens. It was intensely personal and universal at the same time, one of those moments that made me feel like a part of something bigger than myself while also acting as …

UTG INTERVIEW: Less Than Jake Discuss Their New Album and the State of Music

“HEY GIRLS! HEY GIRLLLL! ARE YOU THERE?” whispers Chris DeMakes, frontman of Less Than Jake as we begin our interview in the back on the band’s tour bus. Fortunately for my comfort’s sake, he was speaking directly into my audio recorder and assured me “I’m just making sure it’s working.”

It was the first date of a summer tour featuring Less Than Jake, with our buddies in Hostage Calm and Pentimento along for the ride. Fortunately, Under The Gun got to speak with Chris DeMakes (guitar, vocals) and Roger Manganelli (bass, vocals) one on one about the guys’ new …

UTG INTERVIEW: Allison Weiss Talks ‘Say What You Mean’ and Warped Tour

Allison Weiss may just be the quirky and charismatic songwriter that Vans Warped Tour has been looking for, so it’s a good thing they snagged her for the Acoustic Basement Stage this summer. It appears as though she has the ability to cheerfully boost morale while maintaining a maturity and sincerity rarely found in an artist of her stature. Her appreciation for fans and whole-hearted attitude nearly surpasses her witty songwriting.

REVIEW: I Can See Mountains – Life on a Houseboat

Band: I Can See Mountains
Album: Life on a Houseboat
Label: Panic Records
Genre: Indie/Pop-Punk

What is there in Buffalo, New York? The Buffalo Sabres? My mom would argue “a whole lot of sadness and grey skies.” She’s probably right because she is indeed right about most things, but if you were to ask me I’d probably mention the budding punk and indie scene. Buffalo produced one of my favorite records of 2012, Pentimento’s self-titled debut, and in 2013 the birth place of my wonderful father gave me another release to get excited about: I Can See Mountains’ Life on
