There has been talk of new material from Kanye West for months, but as of this morning it seems all but confirmed that a new album is on the way (much) sooner than later.

New York City radio personality Peter Rosenberg sits at the center of this story, as it is his on-air discussion of West’s latest efforts that sent bloggers into a fury earlier today. Just when you thought Andrew W.K. couldn’t get any more cool or awesome, he gets named a cultural ambassador by the United States government. Yes, you read that correctly. According to his website, Andrew in the coming months will be traveling over to the Middle Eastern country of Bahrain to share his music with and talk to elementary school kids, the University of Bahrain, and music venues about the art of partying and the positivity that can come from it. His trip will start in December.

Chicago rapper Lil Reese just earned himself the honor of permanently being on UTG’s shitlist. The eighteen-year-old who recently made headlines for his Chief Keef assisted “Traffic” single is once again setting trending topics worldwide thanks to a newly surfaced video that shows the artist beating a young female. UTG has the footage after the jump, but be warned that it is extremely graphic. Reese does not hit her, he beats her.

Headed to SXSW? Look At The Lineup for Absolutepunk’s Party

Our friends over at Absolutepunk have finally unveiled the lineup for their SXSW party.

Taking place on at midnight on Friday, March 16, Absolutepunk’s SXSW party will include performances from Arrange, The Front Bottoms, Hellogoodbye, Motion City Soundtrack, and Doomtree, as well as DJ sets from Paul and Lueda of Billions & Billions.
