STREAM/DOWNLOAD: Frank Ocean Ft Outkast – “Pink Matter” (Remix)

A week after teasing the internet with his time in the studio, Big Boi has emerged from the booth to release his remix of Frank Ocean’s Andre 3000-assisted song, “Pink Matter.”

Serving as the first time Big Boi and Andre 3000 have been on a track together since Outkast last released an album, the remix of “Pink Matter” keeps the vibe relaxed and the wordplay subtle. Being a Frank Ocean track to begin with, this might not be exactly what fans of the duo were hoping to stumble across when Big and Andrew reunited, but I’ll be damned if it …

Big Boi’s new album arrives in December, but Rocky’s won’t arrive until 2013. Stay tuned for updates on both releases in the coming weeks.

STREAM/DOWNLOAD: DMX ft. Machine Gun Kelly – I Don’t Dance

After weeks of live videos and teasers, the first single off DMX’s 2012 comeback album has arrived.

“I Don’t Dance” features an ironically club-ready beat that X attacks with a focused fury we have not heard in years. Adding young favorite Machine Gun Kelly, who more than holds his own, X ensures young listeners will realize who is (still) top dog. You can stream, download, and enjoy “I Don’t Dance” after the jump.

I had my doubts in 2011, but “I Don’t Dance” has officially ignited my excitement for X’s Undisputed. Stay tuned for album details, videos, future singles, …

RCA Shuts Down Jive, Arista and J Records

In a shocking series of events, it has been reported that RCA will be shutting down Jive, Arista and J Records. These labels are owned by Sony and the company feel it’s in the best interest of the artists to shut down the imprints. Some of the current talent on the labels are Britney Spears, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Outkast.

This move was clearly made with the best intentions and artists were consulted before disbanding.

RUMOR: Outkast planning solo albums in 2011, group effort in 2012

The world needs more Outkast. Having been subject to the constant onslaught of rappers trying to be more club-ready while simultaneously going “hard,” I can honestly say I would pay upwards of $50 for anything even half as great as the material Outkast create on each and every album.

Hopefully I will soon have to put my money where my mouth is because Hip Hop Wired is reporting new outings from the group may be coming sooner than expected:

OutKast is on track to release a new album by early next year. Both Dre and Big are working on solo
