The XX Stream Their ‘Great Gatsby’ Contribution, “Together”

Is it possible for another 2013 film to have more hype for its soundtrack than The Great Gatsby?

No, that is a serious question. Is it at all possible? I feel like I can fully commit my love to this film, but maybe there is another seemingly perfect sonic journey awaiting me in another upcoming motion picture I’ve yet to learn about. Either way, with a handful of snippets and couple of full tracks, after today it is safe to say the soundtrack for the upcoming adaptation of The Great Gatsby is going to leave you with your jaw …

FALL IN LOVE: Lana Del Rey Debuts “Young And Beautiful”

Few things go together like a love for the past and the sultry vocals of Lana Del Rey, so it will likely come as little-to-no surprise that the pop songstress has a new track featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming theatrical adaptation of The Great Gatsby. That song, entitled “Young And Beautiful,” can now be heard in advance of its release right here on UTG.

It has been less than a week since we posted about Lana Del Rey releasing the video for her (amazing) cover of Nancy Sinatra’s “Summer Wine,” but I have to be …

SCENE & HEARD: The Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn, Part 2

For many, the passing of the Twilight franchise on film (for now anyway) will be something of a relief, if not a cause for celebration. Yet for this sad little loser, it was an emotional affair. I may not have the excuse of having grown up with the books, but I do remember the series being the first one in a long time that I really loved, precisely because it was so improbable and silly. I was weaned on the outrageously awful Australian soap opera Home and Away as a child, so when my brain saw something with just as …

WATCH: Wu-Tang Clan Perform “Six Directions Of Boxing” On Fallon

The internet came alive early last week when a new Wu-Tang Clan song surfaced on the Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack, and now the group that will never die are back once again. Taking to Jimmy Fallon’s late night stage last night, Ghostface Killah, RZA, Cappadonna, GZA, U-God and Masta Killa performed a live rendition of “Six Degrees Of Boxing” to further promote RZA’s forthcoming feature film. You can view the performance after the jump.

Even with a few core members missing, Wu-Tang never ceases to impress. Will they reunite for a full tour in 2013? I’m doubtful, but …

STREAM: Kanye West – “White Dress”

A day after setting blogs ablaze with a snippet, the full version of Kanye West’s contribution to The Rza’s Man With The Iron Firsts OST has surfaced online.

Released with an accompanying visual that does not pass an official video, “White Dress” makes good on the teaser’s promise of delivering an old school Kanye flow against a chilled beat and it feels damn good. Yeezy has never not shined, but his ability to connect listeners with his stories has definitely wavered in recent years, and while “White Dress” doesn’t completely make up for that, it’s definitely a good start. You …
