Ohio based bands Ghost Stories and Armslength have released their new split for a name your price value on Bandcamp.

Both being indie based bands from the Ohio area, Ghost Stories and Armslength have joined together in tours, friendships, and now music. While they are both lesser known bands, I hope that with the release of this new split they can begin to be on everyone’s radars as they deserve to be.

Ghost Stories recently went through a singer change, though this alteration in line-up has had no effect on their ability to create vibrant songs. Channeling my favorite aspects …

If You Enjoy Pop Rock, Prepare To Fall In Love With Like London

There were a handful of months back in 2009/2010 when electronic-driven pop rock was all the rage in alternative music. Like mid-2000s metalcore and the ‘modern’ emo sound of 2001, however, there quickly grew to be far too many bands trying to hitch their careers to the genre bandwagon for anyone to get ahead. Countless bands copied each other’s sound and quickly made one another irrelevant, but the few that survived (Breathe Carolina, for instance) went on to have sustainable careers whose longevity was aided by the recent embrace of EDM by mainstream society.

In 2014, the scene is beginning …

Dangerkids-Collapse

REVIEW: Dangerkids – Collapse

Artist: Dangerkids
Album: Collapse
Genre: Hard Rock

Thirteen years ago this September I was sitting at home after school watching MTV when a new band was introduced into my life by the name of Linkin Park. Their single at the time was “One Step Closer,” and though nobody knew it right then that song would soon become one of the biggest rock singles of the last twenty-five years. The sound offered was somewhere between rock and rap, but with a very distinct heavy edge that left you on your toes throughout. I became a fan, and for the next twelve …

The Black Keys Sponsor Ohio Little League Baseball Team

In a world where notable music icons adorn clothing made of meat (not to point fingers), it is nice to occasionally be reminded that some of our favorite musicians are still, for the most part, grounded.

So is the case with The Black Keys, who recently shelled out $300 to sponsor an Ohio little league baseball team, who have since been deemed the West Akron Black Keys. Even cooler, the duo additionally provided each child on the team with an undisclosed amount of cash to put towards their college funds, and agreed to autograph every jersey once the season ends.…
