Get ready to slam your head through a wall, because Staten Island hardcore band VICE just released their new single, “Shaolin Idols.” VICE seamlessly switches between fast hardcore, power violence, and heavy melodic hardcore, creating a bastard child so fueled with confusion and hatred that it begs you to rip your own skin off. Is that comparison too graphic? Probably, but if you don’t like it, you probably won’t care for this music anyway. Also, on the track is Tom Sheehan of legendary New York hardcore band Indecision. If you’re not interested now, I don’t know what else to say.…
Staten Island hardcore’s Vice just released a music video today for their song “Since Birth.” Created by Richmond City Media, the video is a collection of live shots and a look into the life of the boys in Vice. It’s a pretty standard music video, but that isn’t a negative quality. The video is a fun watch, and is a nice peak into a really hardworking, up and coming DIY hardcore band.
“Since Birth” can be found on Vice’s newest 7-inch, Flawed, which came out late 2013 on Eulogy Recordings and Frequency Deleted Records. The record is quick, pissed, …

What is there in Buffalo, New York? The Buffalo Sabres? My mom would argue “a whole lot of sadness and grey skies.” She’s probably right because she is indeed right about most things, but if you were to ask me I’d probably mention the budding punk and indie scene. Buffalo produced one of my favorite records of 2012, Pentimento’s self-titled debut, and in 2013 the birth place of my wonderful father gave me another release to get excited about: I Can See Mountains’ Life on …
Staten Island hardcore band Vice released their new song “Since Birth” yesterday, and let me tell you it’s rad. It’s fast, heavy, and it’s begging for you to get really stupid in some sleazy punk basement. “Since Birth” is the first song to be released off of Vice’s newest EP, Flawed, which comes out in August on Eulogy Recordings.
Vice is also going on tour this June, hitting up a bunch of Midwest and East Coast states. Having seen their live set, it’s not something to be missed.
You can check out “Since Birth” after the break, as …

These songs were recording during the group’s homecoming New York set at the Roseland Ballroom last night. The stream was live and provided a high-definition viewing experience. Directed by Steve Buscemi.
Vampire Weekend’s forthcoming album, Modern Vampires Of The City, will see release May 14 on XL Records. The band is set to perform on Saturday Night Live on May 11.
We know we’re excited about this one, are you? There’s a high likelihood that the band may play material off of their upcoming Ace Enders produced EP, Real Eyes, which is due for a summer release. The band’s exclusively partnered with PV to stream a demo titled “Titanic.”
