STREAM/DOWNOAD: Limp Bizkit – “Lights”

Nu-metal artist Limp Bizkit has released a new song titled “Lights”. This comes fresh off the happening of DJ Lethal rejoining the band after apologizing on Twitter. Now that’s what we like to see: an immature happening being forgiven because someone said they’re sorry on Twitter instead of face to face. Hey, at least they weren’t entirely childish about everything, kind of.

Limp Bizkit is also in the process of filming a video for their single with Lil Wayne, “Ready To Go”.

REVIEW: Linkin Park – Living Things

Artist: Linkin Park
Album: Living Things
Genre: Rock
Label: Warner Bros.

One of the many things that can be said about Linkin Park is that there will never be one album from the band that will go by unnoticed in today’s mainstream world. The band has just little bit of everything for everyone out there. Distorted guitars for the typical rock fans? Check. Walls of synth sounds coupled with some occasional dance-y drum beats for the electro fans? Check. The occasional rapped verse/chorus by Mike Shinoda for the more experimental hip hop fans? Check. What about some harsh auto-tune laced …

Review: Bermuda – The Wandering

Artist: Bermuda
Album: The Wandering
Genre: Deathcore/Nu-Metal
Label: Mediaskare Records

Last March Bermuda released their EP Isolationist(s). The album was met with mixed reviews, but with the unanimous opinion that it was most definitely some of the most brutal metal released within the last couple years. Now, a year later the same opinion could be agreed upon for Bermuda’s full length follow-up and debut The Wandering. Despite the album’s title, The Wandering is a rioting runaway train headed straight for your brain. However, instead of hitting the pleasure center,  The Wandering just barely misses and instead ends up bouncing …

REVIEW: Korn – The Path of Totality

Artist: Korn
Album: The Path of Totality
Label: Roadrunner Records
Genre: Nu-veggie-step

Out of all the trendy nu metal bands from the early 2000s, it’s pretty easy to tell that Korn had one of the more interesting and distinctive sounds. Perhaps it’s because they had a few years head start than their colleagues, but that matters not. What does matter, however, is that Korn have somehow found a way to continue to be relevant. Over the years they advanced their sound ever so slightly, and truly avoided putting the same album out twice. They’ve had their ups and they’ve had …

REVIEW: Limp Bizkit – Gold Cobra

Is the return of Limp Bizkit perfect? No, but it is damn close. I have no doubt that anyone who previously loved Limp Bizkit will instantly fall in love with Gold Cobra, but the truly amazing part is just how universally appealing they still are. Seriously, if 2011 ends and Limp Bizkit aren’t once again among the biggest acts in the rock world, I will legitimately be shocked.

Craig Owens going Nu Metal?

…Probably not. However, he is up to something big with some of that genre’s biggest names.

From his twitter:

In sunny California. Excited to write some songs w/ John 5 (Marilyn Manson / Rob Zombie) over the next 3 or so days. Love my life & my boys.

Bury Your Dead – It’s Nothing Personal

burycdArtist: Bury Your Dead
Album: It’s Nothing Personal
Label: Victory
Genre: Hard Rock

Bury Your Dead has outlasted most predictions of their career. They’ve gone through loss of a lead singer and regained their footing with little to no impact on their fanbase in a negative way. Now, with the release of their 5th studio record [6th total], the group evolves out of the “by the numbers” hardcore they’ve been known for and go for a more heavy rock sound on thier 5 Victory Records release, It’s Nothing Personal.

The lead track and single, “Hurting Not Helping,” seems to …
