Major League Release Audiotree Live Session

2014 was a really important year for Major League. In January, the band announced that they had parted ways with their former vocalist, Nick Trask, and now have their guitarist (and primary lyricist) Brian Joyce on vocal duty. The band, with the altered lineup, just put out their new record, There is Nothing Wrong with Me, via No Sleep Records last week. We didn’t pass up the opportunity to talk about how the record fared; you can check out what we thought of it here.

This new Audiotree session, which was filmed late last month, features the band …

Allison Weiss And Her Band Involved In Van Accident, Taking Donations And Digital Sales

Writing about this kind of thing is the hardest part of the job. While driving from Denver to Salt Lake City yesterday as a part of their current tour routing, Allison Weiss and her band hit a patch of ice along a treacherous stretch of highway and rolled off the road.

According to a Facebook post from Weiss, no one in the band is seriously injured aside from a few bumps and scratches. However, the group’s tour van is destroyed. This is always painful to hear about. As a touring musician, you depend on your van and your instruments to …

REVIEW: Major League – ‘There’s Nothing Wrong With Me’

Artist: Major League
Album: There’s Nothing Wrong With Me
Label: No Sleep Records
Genre: Rock

Seeing the name Major League pop up on iTunes when I click to listen to the band’s new record feels wrong. As long as I’ve been familiar with the band, Major League has represented that weird, pubescent period for hardcore-tinged pop-punk when the genre had to search for footing in a scene ruled predominantly by mall-core and neon-pop. Along with that era’s heavy hitters like I Call Fives, Casting Call, and With The Punches, Major League made goofy songs, goofy music videos, and goofy album …

Major League are preparing to release their new record, There’s Nothing Wrong With Me, on November 4 via No Sleep Records. In anticipation of the release, the band has put the full album available for streaming to the pop-punk world one week early on Billboard, and you can check out the stream below after the jump.

A big difference in this album, compared to 2012′s Hard Feelings, is the change of vocal duties with guitarist Brian Joyce taking over after Nick Trask’s departure from the band. Check out what Joyce had to say about the themes of …

UTG @ CMJ 2014: The Madness That Was ’68

No Sleep Records threw quite a party Tuesday night and UTG was there to witness it.

The No Sleep ’Til CMJ Showcase brought a whopping eleven bands out to play at The Paper Box in Brooklyn. The diversity in the showcase’s lineup brought fans from different scenes together in a tiny space where gear filled almost half of the floor.

Closed out by Taking Back Sunday’s John Nolan, several good acts preceded (XERXES, Chris Farren, The Felix Culpa, etc.) Directly before Nolan, however, was a band called ’68. This two-piece, hard rock outfit comprised of vocalist Josh Scogin …

Hundredth Signs To Hopeless Records

In one of the most unexpected stories of the week, Hopeless Records has signed South Carolina hardcore band Hundredth. The label will be reissuing all of the band’s previous work, including their recent Revolt and Resist EPs, 2011′s Let Go, and for the first time on vinyl, 2010′s When Will We Surrender. The band will be releasing a new album through the label in 2015.

While Hopeless has dabbled into this brand of hardcore before by signing Cruel Hand earlier this year, this news comes as a surprise to fans of the band and label. I always …

REVIEW: Moose Blood – ‘I’ll Keep You In My Mind, From Time to Time’

Artist: Moose Blood
Album: I’ll Keep You In My Mind, From Time to Time
Label: No Sleep Records
Genre: Indie, Emo

Fall is here. It’s my favorite time of the year, and as such, the albums I listen to during this magical season are incredibly important. It takes a certain type of band to fit into my Fall rotation. AFI and My Chemical Romance are obvious mainstays, but I need other bands to fill those late night drives to spooky places. The ones where you have your windows all the way down, with your hoodie on, and you can smell …
