STREAM: The Swellers – “Bad News” (Demo)

The Swellers have taken a moment from writing their upcoming fourth full length to release a song through No Sleep Records’ YouTube page for the sake of giving fans a taste of what’s to come

Even though it’s purely a demo and may never officially make an appearance on subsequent releases, “Bad News” surely shows some progression in the band. The quartet’s drummer, Jonathan Diener picks up the mic in place of his brother for the first time ever and really gives his all for his performance that leaves me personally wondering why he hasn’t done so sooner.

STREAM: Hundredth – “Free Mind / Open Spirit”

Hundredth have just put up a lyric video to “Free Mind / Open Spirit”, a brand spanking new song off of their upcoming Revolt EP that’s being released on March 19 through Mediaskare records and No Sleep Records.

Seeing as how the track’s title has also appeared on plenty of the band’s merch items in the past year, the track could very well be seen as a figurative banner of what the group stands for. Simply said, the song clocks in at less than two minutes and wastes absolutely no second at getting to the point.

Slated for later release …

Aficionado Announces Breakup

This is one post that truly pains me to write: Albany, New York based punks Aficionado announced that they are calling it a quits after around nine years of playing together. While there is no real answer as to why the band decided to break up, Aficionado released an official statement via their Facebook, which you can read after the break. Members of Aficionado will be involved in other projects, so keep a look out for those, as well.

That being said, it really bums me out that Aficionado decided to stop making music. I saw them for the first …
