MUSIC VIDEO: Gillie Da Kid Feat. Pusha T – “Tryna Get Me One”

Philly rapper Gillie Da Kid may not be a household name just yet, but all that soon may change. Gillie teamed up with former Clipse member, Pusha T, to drop his new music video for the track, “Tryna Get Me One.”

The video features a zombie apocalypse in the confines of North Philadelphia, but the video is just proof that even an apocalypse can’t hold these rappers back.

STREAM: Smith Westerns – “3am Spiritual”

Chicago rockers, Smith Westerns, dropped their second track entitled, “3am Spiritual,” from their new upcoming album, Soft Will.

The new track is a little more ambitious than the poppier-carefree track, “Varsity,” which was debuted a few months ago. At around marker 3:05, the track breaks into a staccato bridge, which is followed by an emotional guitar solo. The arrangement is reminiscent of something you’d hear legendary bands such as Queen or The Beatles do. Bold words, but from what we’ve heard from the new album so far, I’m sure we’re in store for something special.

The new album …

James Blake

LISTEN: James Blake Feat. RZA – “Take A Fall For Me”

There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding James Blake lately. Earlier this week, news surfaced that Blake could potentially be working with Kendrick Lamar in the near future. Today another track from James Blake’s new album, Overgrown, appeared online.

“Take A Fall For Me” features RZA rapping over a laid back beat, which creates yet another perfect marriage between the hip-hop and indie worlds. James Blake lets RZA primarily take the reins on the track, but the English musician’s production shouldn’t be overlooked. Yesterday James Blake unleashed the bonus track, “Every Day I Ran” which features …

James Blake Releases New Video And Could Be Collaborating With Kendrick Lamar

A few weeks ago, English musician James Blake released the track “Voyeur” from his upcoming album, Overgrown. Today, a visual video for the track has surfaced courtesy of 1-800-Dinosaur Music.

Upon pressing play, you may expect a typical video of a vinyl spinning on a turntable with a backing track, but it’s only about a minute in when the video takes you into a different dimension. The visual colors and shapes capture the same emotion James Blake conveys within the track itself.

In an interview with the UK site Juno Plus, 1-800-Dinosaur owner and James Blake’s manager Dan

STREAM: The Swellers – “Bad News” (Demo)

The Swellers have taken a moment from writing their upcoming fourth full length to release a song through No Sleep Records’ YouTube page for the sake of giving fans a taste of what’s to come

Even though it’s purely a demo and may never officially make an appearance on subsequent releases, “Bad News” surely shows some progression in the band. The quartet’s drummer, Jonathan Diener picks up the mic in place of his brother for the first time ever and really gives his all for his performance that leaves me personally wondering why he hasn’t done so sooner.

Chicago’s Chief Keef continues to build hype for this forthcoming Finally Rich mixtape this morning with a brand new leak entitled, “Appreciation.”
