OM

OM Announce Fall Tour Dates

Last we heard from experimental drone metal band OM, they were touring in support of their excellent fifth album, Advaitic Songs, in 2012. The Drag City release saw them growling their best behind a wave of black shirts and deadpan stares like they do best. Now the trio will be hitting the road again for a short US tour this fall, presumably covering a range of their material.

Their dates kick off in Boston on October 2 at The Sinclair and see them traveling through New England all the way to Minneapolis and Kentucky in a little over a …

Kimbra

Kimbra Announces Fall US Tour Dates

In 2011, Kimbra made her splash in the US by starring in Gotye’s massive hit “Somebody That I Used to Know” and received high praise for her own full-length record, Vows. Now the New Zealand singer-songwriter is dropping bizarre, infectious hits like “90s Music” off her upcoming sophomore album, The Golden Echo, due out August 19 via Warner Bros. In support of that release, she will be hitting the road this fall for a short US tour.

The headlining tour kicks off on October 20 in San Francisco, sees a stopover at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in …

Little Daylight

Little Daylight Announce US Tour Dates

Brooklyn alt-electronic trio Little Daylight have slowly been winning us over with each single they’ve dropped, and now it seems we can finally give them a listen in person. The band are hitting the road this August for several US tour dates with Clean Bandit and Young Rising Sons.

Their debut album, Hello Memorycame out this week and we’ve been spinning “My Life” ever since it dropped last month. It seems like they’re able to craft bright synthpop without ditching individuality — something that’s hard to do with all the bands testing similar waters. Along with …

Merchandise

Merchandise Announce Tour With Lower

Post-punk band Merchandise are hitting the road this fall with Copenhagen group Lower. Normally this would come as a regular tour announcement, but both bands are known for engaging, impressive live shows, so this comes as a double-whammy of great guitar and mesmerizing vocalists.

Merchandise just dropped a new music video for “Enemy” and Lower will be touring behind their new record Seek Warmer Climes, just released last month. If you need inspiration to pick up your guitar, check this out. These dudes’ blood pumps with nothing but a love for music.

BRONCHO

BRONCHO Announce New Album ‘Just Enough Hip To Be Woman’ and Tour Dates

When we found out BRONCHO would be touring with Brand New, our ears perked up. Now that they’ve announced a new record, BRONCHO have our ears perked up again, and this time we’re not going to stop listening. The fuzzy, guitar-driven garage rock group will be dropping Just Enough Hip To Be Woman on September 16 via Dine Alone Records, and the album’s first single, “Class Historian,” is already streaming over at Stereogum.

Just Enough Hip To Be Woman sees the band taking on a poppier sound without losing any of the volume. With 11 tracks, it clocks in …

Whirr Sway

Whirr Announce New Album, Share “Mumble”

Nick Bassett is a busy guy. After leaving Deafheaven to play bass in Nothing, he later started a new shoegaze project called Whirr and, throughout all of this, toured. Now Whirr is releasing their second full-length, Sway. The LP, which was recorded by Sunbather producer Jack Shirley, drops September 23 via Graveface and can be pre-ordered here.

Whirr have shared “Mumble” off the album to prove that it will indeed be a succinct, celestial, doom-drenched piece of shoegaze. The song keeps things short, staying under three minutes, but stomps around with the soft but heavy padding of a …

QOTSA

Queens of the Stone Age Announce Awesome Halloween-Themed Concert

When not dropping music videos, following an extensive tour schedule, and starring in Hercules trailers, California rock band Queens of the Stone Age are prepping to make their life agenda even more grandiose. They’ve been working hard ever since …Like Clockwork dropped last year, and it seems like they don’t know how to say goodbye to their run behind that album without doing something big.

For their final performance supporting …Like Clockwork material, QOTSA will put on a Halloween-themed concert on October 31. The concert, titled “The End Of The Road” (not to be confused with the festival of …

S. Carey (of Bon Iver) and Califone Announce Co-Headlining Tour

Three cheers for combining great forces! Chicago’s roots-rock group Califone and Bon Iver folk collaborator S. Carey will be hitting the road together this fall in a co-headlining tour. They both will split up after departing the East Coast–then opening for musicians like The War on Drugs and American Football–but will rock these September dates like they’re the long lost friends we imagine they are.

Last year Califone put out a new LP titled Stitches and S. Carey released Range of Light a few months ago. Both are accomplished full-lengths worth checking out, especially considering their prime listening season is …

He and his backing band, Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, have played several shows and festival dates but haven’t actually dropped the name of their new album or any of its songs. Now, halfway through this year, we get a peek at the new album, Tyranny, in a short video trailer

The album is Casablancas’ follow-up to 2009′s Phrazes for the Young and drops September 23 on his own imprint, Cult Records. Pre-orders are now ongoing for only $3.87. Who knows if …

Caribou Our Love

Caribou Announces New Album and Tour, Shares Single “Can’t Do Without You”

It’s been four years since Caribou‘s excellent LP Swim came out and got everyone up and dancing, including Radiohead. Daniel Snaith has released music since then under his other monikers, Manitoba and Daphni (the latter of which he dropped a split single with Owen Pallett in April), but now the Canadian composer and electronic musician is back with a new record and tour. The album, titled Our Love, comes out October 6 via City Slang in the UK and October 7 via Merge in the US.

Andrew Bird Announces New Album and Tour

Violin and whistler extraordinaire Andrew Bird has been dropping new releases somewhat quietly in the past few years, and they’ve each had their own sweet charm. The longstanding folk duo The Handsome Family and Townes Van Zandt will get to hear their material covered on the full-length album due out June 3. Considering he covered “The Giant of Illinois” on compilation album Dark Was
