ILoveMakonnen Shares New Mike WiLL Make It Single “Swerve”

Upcoming emcee ILoveMakonnen has been getting a ton of hype as this year has progressed, and with the last few days of the year beginning to wrap up, he dropped a new single for us to chew over until we see what he brings in 2015.

The single, titled “Swerve,” sees classic production from Mike WiLL Made It and Marz. It’s a loose track that unexpectedly brings jazz flutes on to round out a subtle cruiser. Just wait until you start hearing it in the background of every single Vine. Regardless, we can’t help but think it would be a …

Nicki Minaj the Pinkprint

Hear Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé on “Feelin’ Myself”

Earlier this year, Beyoncé brought Nicki Minaj onboard for an intense remix of “Flawless” in the way that the quick spitter can make possible. Now, Minaj has shared a brand new single featuring Queen B called “Feelin’ Myself” off her upcoming studio album, The Pinkprint, out December 16 via Young Money, and it gets a little grittier.

Produced by Hit-Boy, “Feelin’ Myself” is a glitchy beat that saunters in low tones, remaining relatively dark throughout until Beyonce’s bright vocals lighten things up. There’s no beef here. Instead, the two divas take it slow, letting their lines speak for themselves …

Eidola have received considerable press for joining Blue Swan Records earlier in the year, a label built by Will Swan, guitarist of Dance Gavin Dance. You can listen to “To Know What’s Real” below the …

St. Vincent

Stream St. Vincent’s Tropical ‘Pieta’ EP

In October, St. Vincent announced she would release a two-song 10″ EP for Record Store Day’s Black Friday event. Thanks to the internet, both tracks off the EP, “Pieta” and “Sparrow”, are online to stream in full.

The vinyl comes in a bright package designed by Willo Perrnon (the man responsible for all the visuals on her world tour) and each is individually numbered. The songs are, according to RSD’s website, a “deep musing on death and loss that recalls the sonic textures of Big Science-era Laurie Anderson,” but to us they sound rather tropical and snarky. Stream them below …

Jesse Ware You and I Forever Vid

Get Cozy in a Photobooth in Jessie Ware’s “You & I (Forever)” Video

Earlier this year, R&B crooner Jessie Ware dropped her second full-length, Tough Love, to good marks. While we’ve been treated to some unreleased singles and radio hits, she’s decided to surprise fans with a brand new video for “You & I (Forever),” and the video is a cozy clip that will leave you warm with love.

In the “You & I (Forever)” music video, Ware brings out friends and loved ones for a series of goofy photobooth shots in a film stand. It’s simple in nature, but the genuine love present makes up for any bluntness. Keep your …

Frank Ocean Shares New Song “Memrise”

Frank Ocean is finally back. After the success of his debut studio album, Channel Orange, in 2012, the Odd Future crooner has been back in his studio working on his follow-up full-length. The last material we heard from him was back in March of this year when he teamed up with Diplo and members of The Clash for free mp3 “Hero.” Today, he returns with a short new song that satisfies our sweet tooth until a new LP is announced.

The song, titled “Memrise,” sees Frank Ocean asking a lover to come over, dazzling his tale with …

New Jersey is bringing emo rock back, and Prawn are riding at the front of it. The group dropped their sophomore LP, Kingfisher, earlier this year, but had to cut the 12-song tracklist down due to vinyl limitations. On Record Store Day’s Black Friday event on November 28, the band will share the two songs they had to cut.

The tracks will surface on a new EP, titled Settledvia Topshelf Records, of which the title track has already surfaced. The first of the cut songs is “Built For.” It dabbles in the warmth of ’90s emo …

CHVRCHES Stream ‘Hunger Games’ Contribution “Dead Air”

There was a time not too long ago when Lorde made headlines for sharing one of her contributions to the upcoming film, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Her song was great and everything fans had hoped the young singer would deliver, but she is not the only headline grabbing talent to have a new song featured on the highly-anticipated film’s soundtrack.

This morning, Scottish synth pop trio CHVRCHES shared a stream of a new song titled “Dead Air.” The song, which is also set to appear in Mockingjay Part 1, is everything you would expect from the …

Wu-Tang Clan Drop New Single “Ruckus In B Minor”

We are fast-approaching the release of A Better Tomorrow, and early this morning the Wu-Tang Clan took steps to ensure our anticipation for its arrival remained high with the surprise release of a new song.

Titled “Ruckus In B Minor,” the latest single from Wu-Tang Clan relies on live instrumentation to create a beat for the crew to ride. This is thrilling in some ways, but also pulls the grip further away from the gritty sound many fans have longed to hear brought back to the group’s music. I vibe with it however, and I think those with an …

36 Crazyfists Announce New Album, Stream Single “Also Am I”

I must admit. I haven’t kept up with Alaskan rockers 36 Crazyfists in recent years. But back in the early 2000s, when they were releasing albums like Bitterness the Star and A Snow Capped Romance on Roadrunner Records, they were one of my favorite bands. They’ve been quiet for four years, but have now broken that silence by announcing their signing to Spinefarm Records and releasing “Also Am I.” The song is the first single from their new album Time and Trauma, which is on track to be released in February.

The band’s sound has always been a difficult …
