DOWNLOAD/STREAM: Brandon Boyd (Incubus) – “Where All The Songs Come From”

Though it hasn’t gotten the largest amount of publicity in the world thus far, Incubus front man Brandon Boyd is releasing his album with producer Brendan O’Brien. He had a solo album in 2010 called The Wild Trapeze, and Rolling Stone reports that this project is called Sons of the Sea. He described the upcoming release as “oddball pop.”

Rolling Stone also posted a download and a stream of a new song, “Where All The Songs Come From.” On the song, Boyd said “This is a piece about the moment when you understand that as good or as

Bloc Party Is Taking A Break At The End Of July

As recently as a month ago, it seemed indie rockers Bloc Party were working on new studio material and still working the music industry machine nonstop. Since then, NME has reported that guitarist Russel Lissack told Postmedia News “…after we finish the festivals in the summer we’ll be taking some time off. At least six months, maybe a year, maybe two years, it’s hard to say.” With their last summer festival being Latitude on July 19, we know we can expect the rest of 2013 off.

Is this hiatus going to be long? Perhaps not. They’ve taken …

Metro Station Raise Less Than 1/5 Of Indiegogo Campaign Goal, Releasing EP in August

If you’re going to go out on a limb and ask people for money to support your dream, what do you do if they don’t respond the way you had hoped? If you’re Metro Station, the answer is simple: Release the album anyways.

You may remember a story earlier this year about Metro Station launching an Indiegogo campaign to fund the recording and release of a comeback EP. The group asked for $50,000, but when the campaign ended on May 14 they had only managed to raise $8,105. No press releases were sent out, no updates from the band …

Betty Who Begins Work On EP #2 With Peter Thomas

We have been swooning over Betty Who since her video for “Somebody Loves You” found its way in front of our eyes earlier this year. It was less than two months ago that we were able to get our hands on her debut EP, The Movement, and already we’ve learned the Australian export turned New York resident is hard at work on her next release.

Peter Thomas, who worked with Betty on The Movement, let the cat out of the bag on Monday when he tweeted that work had officially begun on Who’s next release. Thomas posted, …

Andrew McMahon

STREAM: Andrew McMahon – “Learn To Dance”

Andrew McMahon is back again with his new song, “Learn To Dance”.

“‘Learn to Dance’ was the first song recorded for The Pop Underground and in many ways it set the tone for the EP’s subject matter, as well as our approach in the studio,” Andrew told AOL Music, where the song is streaming exclusively.

Although the song has a bit more of an electronica element to it, unusual for McMahon considering his past projects, the song still has that catchy, sing-songy vibe that he’s known for. It’s surely worthy of many sing-alongs.

“Mark, the producer I’d just met, finally …

You, Me, And Everyone We Know Debut “I’d Contribute More Dead”

Our Absolutevoices brothers and sisters at PropertyOfZack have the pleasure of hosting the premiere of You, Me, And Everyone We Know’s latest single, “I’d Contribute More Dead.”

The first song to surface off the group’s recently announced EP, “I’d Contribute More Dead” is as angst-laden as YMAEWK has ever been. Crunching guitars with fuzzy riffs pair with frontman Ben Liebsch’s signature vocals to create euphoric buzz of melancholy and woe that lasts a fitting four minutes. You can stream the song below.

According to Twitter, Jonny Craig has begun recording his new fan-funded EP.

“Go to Atlanta record new EP. Come home film thank you videos for donators! Send out more perks! Go on tour! Pretty stoked on life,” Craig graciously tweeted.

Having previously released a few tracks here or there, the EP, funded on IndieGoGo, just barely made it past Craig’s $20,000 goal. Not bad for a guy who’s already stolen his fan’s money, right?

In late May, the singer will head over to the UK in support of his new EP, come home for a while and then …
