Parkay Quarts Content Nausea

Parkay Quarts Announce New Album ‘Content Nausea,’ Stream New Song

Parquet Courts are back with a new release, and they’re changing things up along with it. The Queens, NY indie punk four piece have undergone a homophonic name shift to Parkay Quarts to coincide with one member completing a degree in mathematics and another starting a family, seeing Andrew Savage and Austin Brown work alongside two friends (Jackie-O Motherf*cker’s Jef Brown on Saxaphone and Eaters’ Bob Jones on fiddle) in their place.

The release, titled Content Nausea, is a 12-track LP that clocks in at 35 minutes and is Parkay Quarts’ second release of 2014. As such, it dials …

REVIEW: Fit For A King – ‘Slave To Nothing’

Artist: Fit For A King
Album: Slave To Nothing
Genre: Metalcore
Label: Solid State Records

If any band had the year of their lives in 2013, the honor would most likely go to Texan metalcore outfit, Fit For A King. After laying claim to the most successful debut in Solid State Records history via the sonic yin and yang of Creation/Destruction, the group proceeded to hop on tour after tour while being granted the ability to re-record their independently released full-length of yesteryear, Descendants. Rather than dedicate 2014 to more touring in support of both releases, though, …

Good Old War is working on a new album, and they need your help to finish it. The band has launched a PledgeMusic campaign to help out with studio costs of their upcoming LP.

Essentially serving as a pre-order to the new record, Good Old War is offering a bunch of perks to donors. There are a lot of options in several different price ranges here, from a $10 digital version of the new album for casual fans to a $5,000 executive producer credit for the die-hards. One of the cooler options is a vinyl pack, which offers the band’s …

Hear …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead’s New Single “A Million Random Digits”

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten news from rock act …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, but the band have been hard at work. Their newest record, IX, drops October 20 (pre-orders ongoing here). To celebrate the upcoming release, they’re streaming single “A Million Random Digits” now on Line of Best Fit.

The song is a quick three minutes with primal drums making way for dark guitar riffs. If they’re saying anything, it’s that they’re coming back with teeth growling, per usual. According to the band, the track title comes from a stolen …

Bjork Releasing New Album in 2015

Iceland’s unofficial queen Björk is back in the studio. The influential singer-songwriter told audiences she will have a new record out next year when explaining why she wouldn’t be at the London premiere of Biophilia Live, the captured film from her recent tour behind 2011′s excellent Biophilia.

The post reads: “We are so sorry, but since Björk is already working on her next album (out in 2015!) she can not come to the ‘Biophilia Live’ premiere at the London Film Festival this week.”…

Jason-Aldean-Old-Boots-New-Dirt

REVIEW: Jason Aldean – ‘Old Boots, New Dirt’

Artist: Jason Aldean
Album: Old Boots, New Dirt
Genre: New Country

After weeks spent atop the country music charts with his hit single “Burnin’ It Down,” Jason Aldean has prepared a hit-and-miss collection of material for his sixth studio album.

Looking at Jason Aldean it’s hard to believe he has been a music industry mainstay for a decade (and counting). He’s got just enough of a baby face to sell perpetual youth, and it certainly doesn’t hurt that the vast majority of his material deals with things like falling in love, staying out all night, and working hard for a …

Stars No One Is Lost Single

ALBUM STREAM: Stars – ‘No One Is Lost’

In one week, Canadian indie rock outfit Stars will drop their newest LP, No One Is Lost. We’ve heard a slew of singles like “No One Is Lost” and “From The Night” (which got a joyous music video) so far, but now the whole album is streaming in full on NPR.

No One Is Lost was recorded above a discotheque and, as such, has taken on a lot of fun, throbbing beats that were unavoidably influential. It’s their danciest album to date. According to the group, the record “prioritizes lightness and bittersweet uplift over the devastation …

Greylag

Stream Greylag’s Excellent Debut Album in Full

On October 14, Portland folk rock trio Greylag drop their debut self-titled LP on Dead Oceans. We’ve been eyeing the release with hungry hearts, completely devouring what we’ve heard so far, so it’s with happiness that it’s time to announce their album is streaming in full here.

Deep underneath their acoustic strumming and boot-stomping beats is heartfelt songwriting that’s seen more revisions than a dozen hands can count. The three men craft songs that lay comfortably between Band of Horses and Fleet Foxes on songs like “Yours to Shake” and “Another.” Thanks to help from …

Apparently the record was recorded in Memphis and will have 3000 Wu-edition Boombot Rex versions (which is delivered on a portable speaker platform and includes two unavailable-on-album instrumentals and song “Big Horn B”). RZA told Billboard he got the idea when thinking about how …
