EDITORIAL: The Kids From Yesterday – An Adieu to My Chemical Romance

“I hate the ending myself, but it started with an alright scene.”

In many ways, the most difficult thing to grasp about My Chemical Romance’s recent split announcement was the fact that the band had been together for twelve years. Twelve years feels like a lifetime at this age (literally half my life). In pop culture terms, it’s barely a drop in the ocean and yet so much has changed since that grimy five-piece first came together in New Jersey; a reactionary response to the 9/11 attacks and the impact it had on vocalist Gerard Way. It feels like more …

Gerard Way Speaks On MCR’s Breakup

Gerard Way took to the internet to write a very lengthy post on My Chemical Romance and their recent announcement to break up. I recommend that you sit down and read this as it might take a little while to get through but it’s worth your time if you are a fan of MCR. Even if you are not, this is something worth reading.

Additionally, if you have not already spotted this on Reddit – a fan of the band has put together “clues” that “prove” the band is not actually breaking up but taking on a different identity. You …

STREAM: My Chemical Romance – “The World Is Ugly”

My Chemical Romance are keeping their single series alive and well today with the release of the new single, “The World Is Ugly.” The track hails from the third entry in the band’s current release series, and it hits the ears like a mixture between The Black Parade and Danger Days. I wouldn’t go as far as to call it a ballad, but it’s definitely a track that caters to those who love the group’s more emotive side. You can stream “The World Is Ugly” after the jump.

In addition to continuing to work on new material, the Way …
