Minor Threat Guitarist Doesn’t See The Band Reuniting In The Future

Ultimate-Guitar had a chance to sit down with Bad Religion guitarist (duh) Brian Baker last week just following the release of the California punk band’s 16th (!) album – and their first ever to crack the top 20 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart (!!!) – True North.

UTG TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT: Over & Out ‘Free Tenley’ Winter Tour

Washington, DC’s hardcore group Over & Out has announced plans for a Winter tour and UTG is sponsoring! Over & Out is a hardcore group from the Tenleytown area of DC, and they do their best not to sound like anything coming out of their scene right now. The ‘Free Tenley’ tour is in support of their upcoming EP Plastic City, which will feature six tracks of crushing hardcore that will be coming out around mid-November.

Starting on December 17, Over & Out will be criss-crossing around the East Coast hitting cities such as Philadelphia, Richmond, Raleigh, and more.  …

The Evens (ex-Fugazi, Minor Threat) Announce Album Details

Ian MacKaye was the lead vocalist for hardcore punk band Minor Threat and pioneered the straight edge movement, then the guitarist for post-hardcore band Fugazi. For the past few years, his main project has been alternative rock band The Evens with his wife.

Now The Evens have set the release date for their next album, The Odds. It will be out November 20, 2012, from Washington D.C. based Dischord Records. It will be their first full album since 2006′s Get Evens and their first release since last year’s 7″ 2 Songs. Look at the track list after the …

Gallows 2012

LIVE VIDEO: Gallows – “Seeing Red (Cover)”

One does not simply cover Minor Threat, however Gallows did so at Groezrock this year. Video has surfaced of them performing Minor Threat’s classic “Seeing Red,” and they do a pretty good job. Covering Minor Threat is generally hard, but Gallows passionately puts on the song in a positive way.
