Beastie Boys Sign Book Deal, To Publish Memoir

The NY Times reported late last night that surviving Beastie Boys members Mike D and Ad-Rock have signed a book deal with Random House subsidiary Spiegel & Grau.

The two plan on releasing a memoir that blends oral history with images from pop culture past. This unnamed offering will feature writings from a handful of journalists and is tentatively set to hit shelves in 2015.

Publisher Julie Graud had this to say about the group’s perspective.

“[Mike D and Ad-Rock were] interested in challenging the form and making the book a multidimensional experience. There is a kaleidoscopic frame of reference,

This afternoon the world learned that Adam Yauch, otherwise known as MCA of legendary hiphop act Beastie Boys, passed away at the age of forty-eight.
