Dennis Lyxzen (Ex Refused) Forms INVSN, Signs To Razor & Tie

Razor & Tie announced today that they have signed Swedish alternative rockers INVSN (pronounced in-vey-zhuh-n). The band is formed by Dennis Lyxzén (Refused, The International Noise Conspiracy) along with Andre Sandström (DS-13), Sara Almgren (The International Noise Conspiracy), Richard Österman, and Anders Stenberg (Lykke Li, Deportees).

INVSN have released their first song called “Down in the Shadows” and has our brain rattled already. “Down in the Shadows” will be on INVSN’s yet-to-be-titled debut album, which will release this fall. As UTG reported yesterday, Cassadee Pope had a hometown performance last night (December 6) with members of Hey Monday out in West Palm Beach, Florida. Alex Lipshaw and Pat McKenzie accompanied Pope by participating in the official Clematis By Night tree lighting ceremony.

The set consisted of the members playing through tracks “Torn”, “Over You”, “O Holy Night” and “Original Love”.

Frank Turner’s hardcore side project has become one of the most talked about items on our newsfeed in very little time. Maybe it’s Turner’s long history of great songwriting that has folks pulled in so, but it may just be that this new group rips most current hardcore greats to pieces with their ferocity. I prefer to think the latter, so let’s just go with that.

The Air I Breathe Lose Four Members

Lambgoat has released news that four members of the Velocity/Rise Records metal group The Air I Breathe have decided to quit the band, leaving their lead singer Tony Dougard as the only remaining member.

The band has not offered an official statement but guitarists Jesse Butler and Camp Baptista, drummer Greg Diamond and bassist Colin Klika have all departed. Tony Dougard has apparently recruited some replacement players for the time being.

New rock outfit Palms have announced that Chino Moreno (Deftones) will take over vocals for the group.

Palms consists of ex-Isis members Aaron Harris, Clifford Meyer and Jeff Caxide. They are expected to release their debut album later this year through Ipecac Recordings, which was recorded/mixed by Aaron Harris.

Aside from the obvious, the band are moving forward finding a replacement screaming vocalist for The Fire And Ice Tour supporting We Came As Romans. Woe, Is Me have revealed That’s Outrageous! vocalist Doriano Magliano will fill these shoes for the time being.
