Maybach Music Group newcomer Rockie Fresh represents his hometown of Chicago in the new music video for “God Is Great.”

The track comes from MMG’s Self Made 3 mixtape and showcases a different side of the label, which we thoroughly appreciate. Rick Ross brought the 22-year-old onto the team last year and shows us he’s committed to a more experimental side of hip-hop.

Don’t forget to check out Rockie’s appearance on the official Omarion remix of his single “M.I.A.” as well. He shines on that track.

Wale dropped the second single “Love Hate Thing.”

The Maybach Music Group rapper rhymes over a soulful beat, that features vocals from Sam Dew and was produced by Dew, Stokley, and Tone P. Under The Gun is digging this smooth vibe. “Love Hate Thing” will be featured on Wale’s forthcoming album, The Gifted, which drops on June 25.

“It’s gonna have one sound. It’s very, very soulful. It’s a little nostalgic, a little vintage, but the sounds will make you feel on this album.”

Wale Samples fun. For “Sight Of The Sun” Freestyle

Maybach Music Group member Wale is no stranger to the freestyle circuit, but the artist he’s chosen to sample for his latest release may be making their debut in urban music thanks to this track.

fun., the same band behind last year’s inescapable hit “We Are Young,” have been sampled by Wale for his “Sight Of The Sun” freestyle. The track opens with vocals from Nate Reuss before moving into the instrumental which Wale absolutely crushes. The lyrical content isn’t far from the rapper’s usual array of autobiographical lines and talk of wealth, but the flow is respectable nonetheless. You …

Rick Ross Apologizes For Rape Lyric; Releases “Don’t Kill My Vibe” (Freestyle) Video

Maybach Music Group mastermind Rick Ross has spent the few weeks in hot water after complaints he praised rape culture with lyrics from a song released earlier this year. On “U.O.E.N.O.” Ross raps, “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.” The outcry has lead to radio station bans and the creation of multiple online petitions against the rapper, including one calling for Reebok to end their use of Ross as a spokeperson.
