Say Anything Announces ‘Rarities And More’ Tour Featuring Eisley, HRVRD, I The Mighty, and Northern Faces

Equal Vision records has announced that rock act Say Anything will be crossing the nation this Summer on their ‘Rarities And More’ tour.

Kicking off June 6 in Dallas, the latest outing from Say Anything will come with support from Eisley, HRVRD, I The Mighty, and Northern Faces. The idea behind the tour is to showcase material released earlier this year on All My Friends Are Enemies: Early Rarities, which featured Say Anything material recorded before their breakout album, …Is A Real Boy. According to the press release, the band will showcase many of the rarities songs, including …

Max Bemis Promises Another Two Tongues Album Some Time “Within The Next Couple Years”

Max Bemis, principal singer and songwriter for literate, heart-rending pop punk act Say Anything, stated on Twitter today that he’s not done with his long dormant Two Tongues project.

A supergroup originally consisting of Bemis, fellow Say Anything member Coby Linder, Saves The Day frontman Chris Conley, and ex-Saves The Day guitarist David Soloway, Two Tongues only put out one self-titled album way, way back in 2009.

But just because we haven’t heard anything from the group in a couple years doesn’t mean that we should count on them not coming back, according to the tweet from Bemis …

Max Bemis (Say Anything) Writing Comic Book

Max Bemis, best known for fronting (and now that Coby Linder’s left, essentially being) Say Anything, has referenced having some big plans this year beyond Say Anything. He has a child on the way, he’s opened up his song shop with his wife, and now he’s got a comic book from Boom Studios titled Polarity coming out in April.

Max talked about how the comic would be highly influenced by his time in Brooklyn fighting bipolar disorder, saying the series involves “…finding out I have bipolar, dealing with the disease, being in denial that I had

STREAM/DOWNLOAD: Jeff Turner (XO, Say Anything) – “Do You Really Love Me”

Jeff Turner has been a busy man. The act he’s probably best known for, Say Anything, has recently lost the only drummer it ever had in Coby Linders, and the band he’s one of the main songwriters for, XO, is now signed to Equal Vision Records through Max Bemis’ imprint, Rory Records. For New Years, he released a solo recording of him covering the Daniel Johnston song “Do You Really Love Me”.

My answer is yes. Johnston has been covered by a ton of artists, including Beck, Tom Waits, and Death Cab for Cutie. Stream …

HOLY SH!T: Coby Linder Leaves Say Anything

Coby Linder, long time drummer for Say Anything and beach body specialist (seriously, follow him on Twitter and get some health advice), has left Say Anything. Max had been hinting at major news coming from the band, but for it to turn into this blew me away.

Max Bemis said “As of a couple weeks ago, Coby and I made the mutual decision to retire his role as the permanent drummer of Say Anything. This choice was made for a multitude of reasons, many involving where both Coby and I are at personally in our lives versus our roles

XO Sign To Max Bemis’ Equal Vision Records Imprint, Rory Records

Say Anything front man Max Bemis started his own imprint of Equal Vision Records called Rory Records last year. The only band he had signed at the time was Tallhart, but they have since signed Merriment! and now XO. XO may be known as a side-project to some people, as its primary band members are Jeff and Jake Turner, both musicians already in Say Anything; despite this, there’s reason to think this the Turner’s primary project with Max handling most of the writing in Say Anything.

On the signing, Bemis saidThough it seems obvious for

Saves The Day Announce Next Album, Launch Funding Campaign

Well, I suppose I was off with my last prediction. Saves The Day have announced their eighth studio album; they’ll begin recording this February in hopes to have it out by summer. They’ve announced the funding campaign for it, available here, which is one of the few music funding campaigns I’ve seen not on Kickstarter. Some of the best goodies are having their lead guitarist and bassist record parts on your album, being their roadie for a day, and having you choose the set list. If I was rich, I’d be going wild with Saves The Day nerdiness …

Merriment Signs To Rory/Equal Vision Records

Tyler, Tex. folk-pop duo, Merriment has signed to Rory Records, Max Bemis’ Equal Vision Records imprint.

The band features siblings Christie and Collin DuPree, relatives of all the members of Eisley, including Bemis’ wife and Eisley frontwoman, Sherri DuPree.

“Not only is Merriment one of my favorite bands but they have more potential to blow the heck up than most bands I encounter nowadays,” Bemis said in Equal Vision’s blog.

The band self released their debut EP, Through The Rough, earlier this spring before releasing a split 7″ vinyl this past summer with Eisley. Pick up Through

New Saves the Day Will Be Their “Most Uplifting” Record Yet

Pop/punk powerhouse Saves the Day recently conducted an interview with fellow AbsoluteVoices website Alter the Press!. In it, guitarist Arun Bali and vocalist Chris Conley talk about the future of the band, the next album, and working with Max Bemis of Say Anything in the Two Tongues.

When asked about STD’s next record, Chris said “We’ve got ten songs, I think, for the next record already – without lyrics, but the melodies and chords and everything. It feels quite different. Each record is always a departure from the last. As Arun said, unintentionally it just sort of happens and
