MUSIC VIDEO/SHORT: The Lonely Island Ft Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar – “YOLO”

More than a year has passed since Drake and the Young Money crew brought the phrase “YOLO” to the tongues and inebriated texts of people around the world. For better or worse, it seems everyone has something to appreciate about the idea “you only live once,” even if it’s nothing more than the courage to do something that could end said life much faster than the average person. That idea has almost nothing to do with this post, but it’s something to think about nonetheless.

Never ones to let a trending topic pass without making light of it as only …

REVIEW: Maroon 5 – Overexposed

Artist: Maroon 5
Album: Overexposed
Genre: Pop/rock
Label: A&M/Octone

Something of a rushed job in the wake of their “Moves Like Jagger” success last year, Overexposed is an awkward and lumbering album, yet one that musters some real gems before it gives out. It’s underwritten and bland, marked by a persistent insecurity as to how it wants to sound. Maroon 5 aren’t exactly the bearers of profound, thought-provoking musicality but their penchant for crafting a sleek pop tune has gone somewhat awry here. The title is fitting, as the tinkering and differing approaches taken to these tracks indicates a catch-all …

WATCH: Crown The Empire Cover “Moves Like Jagger” Live

We have been gushing over Crown The Empire for a few months and as it turns out, they just keep getting better.

Proving why they are one of our favorite unsigned bands in North America, Crown The Empire unleashed their cover of Maroon 5′s “Moves Like Jagger” at The Doors in Dallas earlier this week. One fan captured the song on their phone and uploaded the clip for the masses to enjoy. The audio leaves a bit to be desired, but consider how protective the band has been of the cover up to this point, this is probably the best …
