REVIEW: All Time Low – ‘Future Hearts’

Artist: All Time Low
Album: Future Hearts
Genre: Pop Rock
Label: Hopeless Records

It’s 3:51 a.m. At this point, I’ve listened to All Time Low’s Future Hearts at least 7 times continuously, and I still can’t figure out what I want to say about it. I could hop on the bandwagon and gush about how the band’s sixth studio effort is all for the fans. I just have one question: Isn’t that the point of all albums? While I understand where other critics are coming from when they point this out, it seems like a cop out. There’s so …

UTG PHOTOS: Musink Festival (Day Three, 3/22/15)

Under The Gun sent photographer Erica Lauren to the Orange County Fair & Exposition Center on March 22, 2015 for The MUSINK Tattoo Convention and Music Festival.

Musink 2015 took over Costa Mesa, California this past weekend for their 8th year. Music and tattoo enthusiasts showed up in huge numbers for a weekend of body artwork and live music. The festival entertained fans with tattoo contests, classic cars, and talented artists available to work. With all of the non-musical activities aside, the lineup for Musink held its own for a great weekend of memorable performances.

Sunday’s portion of Musink …

Multiple Videos Surface From First blink-182 Show With Matt Skiba

Last night, at famed music club The Roxy in Los Angeles, Matt Skiba performed his inaugural set with pop punk forefathers blink-182. As most should already know, Skiba took the place of longtime guitarist and punk rock punchline Tom Delonge after a brutal and public feud between Delonge and the band’s other tenured members, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker.

Follow the jump to see various fan-shot videos of the new Mark, Matt, and Travis show, including classic tracks like “What’s My Age Again?,” “Dammit,” “Reckless Abandon,” and others, as well as newer blink numbers such as “Up All Night.” …

Tom Delonge Confirms Blink-182 Are Working On A New Album

Just when you thought it was time to climb atop your Cheshire Cat and ride off into the sunset a second time, a sign of life has emerged from the Blink-182 camp with news regarding the possibility of new music.

There have been rumors circulating in 2014 that Blink-182 were hoping to record, but there was also several reports that the band was having a hard time finding time for them to work together on creating such an effort. Today, Tom Delonge used social media to share an image of all three Blink members as teens. This would not normally …

Mark Hoppus Announces New Side Project With Producer Chris Holmes

Generation Y rejoice!

This afternoon, everyone’s favorite punk Mark Hoppus took to Twitter to announce a new side project called Nothing and Nobody. Rounded out by engineer/producer Chris Holmes, the duo has joined forces with Purevolume to unveil their first track, a rip-roaring remix of Nova Rockafeller‘s “1990s.”

According to Hoppus’ tweets, Nothing and Nobody have already put together “nearly 25 songs in various stages of completion,” and fans can expect an entire album “in the not-too-distant future.” At his point, it is unclear if the outfit’s full-length debut will consist of more remixes, entirely new material, …

LIVE REVIEW: Blink-182 ‘Untitled’ 10-Year Anniversary Show (11/7/13)

For some reason Blink-182 has always been a band everyone likes. I have vivid memories of hearing “Going Away To College” for the first time when I was 15, and my older brother then giving me a copy of Buddha for my birthday. Their music became the standard for car trips and singing along to “Josie” set the bar for how to have fun driving down route 146. My mom even loved to sing the high harmonies on songs like “First Date” so despite the vulgar language they were acceptable to play in the car.

There has just always been …

MOVIE REVIEW: ‘Filmage: The Story of Descendents / ALL’

Movie: Filmage: The Story of Descendents / ALL
Director: Matt Riggle, Deedle LaCour
Director of Photography: Justin Wilson
Editor: James Rayburn, Deedle LaCour, Justin Wilson

The guys in Descendents all knew that they weren’t cut out for the glamorous punk rock scene of Hollywood. Hell, the guys were too busy drinking coffee, farting, fishing, and playing mad scientist to worry about styling their hair and getting leather jackets. That didn’t stop them from changing rock music forever.

In spirit of our recent interview with Descendents’ drummer Bill Stevenson, Under The Gun Review has received an advanced copy of Filmage:

EP STREAM: Blink-182 – ‘Dogs Eating Dogs’

We talked about the likelihood of something like this happening a little earlier today, and here we are with a complete stream of Blink-182’s upcoming EP, Dogs Eating Dogs. The anticipation for this release has been so great that it seems trivial to attempt recounting the progress the group have made up to this point, so I’ll just go on record now as saying this collection of tracks (in my opinion) far outshine the material found on their last full length. You can stream Dogs Eating Dogs and decide for yourself, after the jump.

There will be even more …

ALBUM PREVIEW: Blink-182 – Dogs Eating Dogs

Well Christmas is in the air, and blink-182 has been teasing their new EP with a stream of their new song “Boxing Day,” and today we can give you another tease with a sample of each song of the new EP Dogs Eating Dogs. The songs are a little more punky (although a bit too much synth for my taste, but I can’t control the world), and they will definitely please even the most casual of blink-182 fans. Dogs Eating Dogs comes out next week on December 18, and it will be an independent release from the band.

Enough talk …
