Mac Miller Releases Mitch Hedberg Tribute Track “MHB”

Pennsylvania native Mac Miller has released a new song through his alter ego Larry Fisherman paying homage to beloved stand up comic Mitch Hedberg.

Debuting on SoundCloud shortly after 11AM (EST) today, May 23, “MHB” is another odd offering from Miller’s softer side. It’s surreal at first, but as your brain begins to understand what it’s hearing you start to appreciate what is taking place. This is not as much a song …

After months of teasing, Mac Miller has released the lead single off his forthcoming Sophomore album.

“S.D.S.,” which stands for “Somebody Do Something,” finds Miller teaming with production from Flying Lotus on a beat that deserves to be heard through the finest headphones at your disposal. Like most of his work, the beat provided by Lotus offers Miller a mesmerizingly dense backdrop, and the young MC makes the most of the opportunity. In terms of catchiness the hook seems to take a backseat to the storytelling, but fans of Miller’s catalog will probably embrace this one nonetheless. You can stream …

STREAM: Mac Miller – “Doodling In The Key Of C Sharp” (prod. Larry Fisherman)

Pennsylvania native Mac Miller cannot stay away from the free music game, and today he gifts fans around the world with another track from his Larry Fisherman alter-ego entitled, “Doodling In The Key Of C Sharp.”

Created while intoxicated off alcohol, at least that is what Mac Miller claims in the beginning of the track, “Doodling In The Key Of C Sharp” was recorded after Miller made a beat to accompany his love of playing the piano. It’s an expected evolution for the singer, who recently released a lyric-less mixtape of jazz tracks, but it still managed to raise our …

MIXTAPE: Mac Miller – You

Mac Miller has long been a youngster with a sense of wonder about the world of music outside hip hop. One listen to any of his releases and you’re sure to find influence from virtually every genre, so it only makes sense that he is finally stretching his legs and experimenting in these other realms himself.

Last night, Mac took to social network to drop his new EP, You. Unlike everything his fans have known him for outside of the free singles we’ve seen in 2012, this album is straight up jazz music. That is not a joke, though …
