Lostprophets’ Frontman Releases Statement; Vows To Clear Name of Child Sex Charges

If you haven’t been following the news roll recently, here’s a recap: frontman of the Lostprophets Ian Watkins has been in court fighting charges of conspiring to have sex with a child under the age of 13. Today, Watkins’ case has officially been adjourned and he will have to return to court in May for further investigation and sentencing.

Ian released a statement to his fans, thanking them for their support and how he intends to “fight till the bitter end” in his own defense.

Police Under Investigation For Lostprophets Frontman Case

UTG has learned this morning that a police watchdog has been hired to investigate whether South Wales police moved soon enough in the investigation of Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins. Watkins was arrested back in December for conspiracy to rape a newborn baby as well as four offenses relating to indecent images of children.

Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) representative Tom Davies told force told sources, “Our investigation will determine whether or not South Wales Police failed to take appropriate and timely action.”

Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins Denied Bail, Remains In Custody

The Mirror is reporting that Ian Watkins, singer for British rock band Lostprophets, has been refused bail and remains in custody ahead of his trial.

The 35 year old Watkins is facing multiple charges stemming from sex offenses against minors, possession of “extreme” pornography, and an alleged plot involving Watkins and two female conspirators to rape a one year old.

Watkins was previously denied bail in mid December along with the two other defendants on trial. Watkins will face a plea hearing later this month. No date for the trial has been set at this time.

Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins Appears In Court On Child Sex Charges

Updating our ongoing coverage, Lostprophets vocalist Ian Watkins appeared in a UK court today to face child sexual offence charges, including conspiracy to rape a one-year-old girl.

Watkins, 35, appeared via video link at Cardiff Crown Court from Parc Prison, Bridgend wearing black suit, shirt, and tie. Alongside him were two additional female defendants who cannot be named at this time due to legal reasons.

All three were remanded in custody until March 11.

Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins Denied Bail Over Sexual Offense Charges; Description Of Charges Made Public

This story is far from over, and it looks like things are only going to get worse.

Earlier today UTG brought you news that Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins had been “charged with conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with female under 13 and possession of indecent images,” and now we’ve learned the vocalist has been denied bail and must remain in custody until December 31.

Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins Charged With Child Sex Offences

Another rock star is in trouble with the law this morning. This time, the suspect is Ian Watkins, singer of Welsh rock band Lostprophets.

According to a report by The Guardian, Watkins has been “charged with conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with female under 13 and possession of indecent images.”

Two women were also questioned and charged for similar offenses.

Watkins will appear before Cardiff magistrates (a judge, in court) on Wednesday.

Lostprophets Announce West Coast Tour

Lostprophets have announced that they will be touring down the West Coast right after their run on Vans Warped Tour.

This summer tour starts on August 7 in Sacramento, CA and ends on August 14 in Scottsdale, AZ so be sure to pick up your tickets when they become available. The band are also going to be touring in support of their upcoming release, Weapons, which is released on June 19 through Fearless Records.

Lostprophets Sign to Fearless Records

Welsh punk group Lostprophets announced that they will be signing to Fearless Records and will be releasing their new album Weapons on June 19th in the United States as their label debut.

The record has already been released in the UK on April 2, but with US backing from Fearless, they seem to want to make another push into the American market. The band has been relatively silent in the USA for a while now, so it’s great to hear the guys are back trying to get their name onto American airwaves.
