Earlier this month I made my way out to the 930 Club in Washington DC to see the very popular rock group The Gaslight Anthem with Laura Stevenson and the Cans. Normally I shy away from the 930 Club (although it’s not a terrible venue) because generally a lot of the acts that play there I do not enjoy. July 17th, 2012 Josh Hammond As the sweat pours from my body, drops creep down the bridge of my nose and catching on the paper on which I’m currently scribbling these notes. Searching the facility for water like a lost explorer in the desert, flashbacks of experiencing Gaslight Anthem at Austin City Limits flutter through my mind. January 24th, 2012 Tyler Osborne My great friend Lee and I have a really bad habit of wanting to go to shows in places that are impossible to get to without a car. 50 minutes by subway system, 40 minutes by bus, 30 minute walk to see a band play for 40 minutes, we’ve done it all. Our trip into outer limits DC/Virginia to see New Jersey natives The Front Bottoms was another adventure in our journals, and I can not stress enough how worth it the excursion was.

Despite the apparent lack of ticket sales, the annual Leeds Festival was a busy and satisfying weekend of music and comedy. With a mix of indie, punk rock, folk, dub step and more or less anything else you can think of, this year’s Leeds Festival was an eccentric and interesting line-up with plenty to see over three packed days.
