Jessie Ware Tough Love

Listen to Jessie Ware’s New Single “Kind Of … Sometimes … Maybe”

There’s only a few weeks left until UK singer Jessie Ware shares her follow-up album to 2012’s breakout Devotion. The album, titled Tough Love, drops October 21 via PMR/Island Records. In support of the release, she’s shared single “Kind Of … Sometimes … Maybe.” It’s a bit different than the gorgeous “Say You Love Me” and the title track, but maybe that’s because fellow R&B crooner Miguel helped her write this one.

“The British prude in me was nearly banished when I had to whisper sweet nothings for this track,” Ware said to Complex when explaining how …

Stars Release Dreamy New Track, “Turn it Up”

With little over a month to go until the October 14 release date of Stars’ seventh studio album, No One is Lost, the band has decided to unveil their latest track, “Turn it Up.”

Ironically, this single feels a little more toned-down than the quintet’s past work, but that’s what makes it so much more genuine and memorable. Stars have even gone as far as making the song available for a free download (in exchange for an email address, of course).

Follow the jump to give “Turn it Up” a listen and to see the album’s tracklist. Be sure to …

One of the album session’s unreleased songs, “Let Me Give The World To You,” sees its world premiere today. Technically the band put the single out several years down the road on Machina II, but this outtake sounds way different from that version. In terms of album placement, …

LISTEN: Prawn – “Glass, Irony”

“Let’s keep swimming.”

Prawn have released another new track from their upcoming album, Kingfisher. The track, “Glass, Irony,” is an upbeat adventure of melody, pop, and crisp sound. Easily one of the band’s most energetic outings to date, “Glass, Irony” is a welcomed addition to any summer playlist, making the wait for Kingfisher all the more exciting, even though it’s still a month away.

Releasing on August 12 through Topshelf Records, Kingfisher was produced by Moving Mountains’ Greg Dunn. Featuring ten brand new tracks, if “Thalassa” and “Glass, Irony,” are of the caliber to expect, Kingfisher will …

It has been a long wait for new tunes from the much loved and much missed The Felix Culpa. But, today, fans are able to finally surround themselves in new sounds from the band in the form of new song “Karma City.”

“Karma City” is a catalyst of a track, bringing some of the dirtiest tones the band has used to date. Covered with a sludgy bass, heavy guitars, tight grooves, and the perfect balance between pop and drone vocals, “Karma City” is a welcomed return for the band.

The track comes from an upcoming split with Foreign Tongues via …

LISTEN: Frank Ocean – “Pyramids” (Blue Sky Black Death Remix)

Blue Sky Black Death bring on the intensity to create a more severe version of Frank Ocean’s “Pyramids.”

While the beginning of the track is almost straight Frank Ocean, the second half of the song is nothing like the musician, creating a fading, almost bleak, sound.

You can view Blue Sky Black Death’s tour dates and listen to the remix by the group below.

LISTEN: Ellie Goulding and Angel Haze Cover James Blake

Rap and pop meet once again for a mind-blowing cover of James Blake’s “Life Round Here.”

Goulding’s lush vocals give the track a stirring quality while Haze’s sick beat (much like the version that features Chance The Rapper) provides a definite contrast. While the track is anything but lavish, it holds a certain soothing simplicity paired with anticipation (for Haze’s contribution).

You can hear Ellie Goulding and Angel Haze’s cover of “Life Round Here” below.

Chris Baio has remixed yet another number under his DJ moniker Baio, and this time it’s a Broken Bells (the side project of Shins frontman James Mercer and Danger Mouse) track titled “Holding On For Life.”

Baio gives the previously sparkle-pop number a psychedelic twist, stepping away from his usual dance-y style.

In addition to this effort, Baio has released a 41-minute DJ set and announced a four-date long tour.

You can listen to “Holding On For Life (Baio Remix)” and view Baio’s tour dates below.

Beck Covers John Lennon

In advance of his upcoming album Morning Phase (due out in February), Beck has graced us with a cover of John Lennon’s “Love.”

The cover of the ’70s era track will have a place on Starbucks’ Sweetheart 2014 compilation album, which will be on shelves February 4 (just in time for Valentine’s Day).

Beck’s wholesome croon brings a new, more chill vibe to the track. It’s not necessarily better or worse than Lennon’s version, but it definitely gives a new take.
