Lionsgate/Miramax to Release Tarantino XX: 8-Film Collection on Blu-ray

Famed director Quentin Tarantino recently teamed up with Miramax and Lionsgate to release a collection of films (chosen by Tarantino himself) to celebrate the first 20 years of his career in directing, screen-writing, producing, etc.

The films to be included are: Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, True Romance, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Death Proof and Inglourious Basterds. DAMMIT: A “Saw” Remake May Be Closer Than You Think

Just when you thought horror was beginning to find a new sense of pride in the ability of indie filmmakers, one of the biggest studios to embrace horror goes and leaks something downright stupid.

IT’S OFFICIAL: Gary Ross Will Not Direct “Catching Fire”

The man who brought The Hunger Games to life has announced he will not be tackling the film’s sequel, Catching Fire.

Whether or not you enjoyed the recent adaptation of The Hunger Games, there is no denying the financial success of the film. As a result of that popularity, the studio is trying to keep a tight production schedule running on the sequel, Catching Fire, in hopes of hitting an even bigger jackpot in 2013, but that may now be in turmoil because director Gary Ross has confirmed he is leaving the project.

“Hunger Games” Earns $155 Million, Shatters Box Office Records

We all knew The Hunger Games would be big, but I do not think anyone could have predicted just how successful it would become.

In only three days (and some midnight showings), early estimates from Lionsgate report that The Hunger Games has earned an amazing $155 million domestically. Aaron Eckhart To Star In Modern-Day Epic “I, Frankenstein”

Lionsgate announced today that actor Aaron Eckhart has been tapped to portray Adam Frankenstein in the upcoming 2013 film adaptation of Kevin Grevioux’s I, Frankenstein.

Simultaneously familiar and completely unique, Spencer Susser’s Hesher is a film that is difficult to define, let alone discuss. The previews lead audiences to believe it would be a drama laced with wit, but the reality is a much more heavy-handed picture than anyone could have predicted, thanks in part to a wealth of great performances. It’s definitely not for everyone, but those who “get it” will definitely want to keep and talk about for weeks, if not months to come (which is convenient, considering it hits DVD/Blu-ray THIS WEEK).
