The Killers Pay Tribute To Lou Reed

The band covered a song in honor of the late Velvet Underground singer at a homecoming show in Las Vegas at Life Is Beautiful Festival on October 27.

Killers vocalist Brandon Flowers addressed the audience saying that Reed was a direct inspiration for the song “All These Things That I’ve Done.”  The band played a cover of The Velvet Underground’s “Pale Blue Eyes” as a tribute to Reed.

In 2007, Lou Reed collaborated with The Killers on the track “Tranquilize,” which appeared on the compilation album, Sawdust.

You can watch the band’s tribute below.

Thank you, Clear Channel Media & Entertainment. Not only did you give me the opportunity to work alongside Albany’s #1 radio personality D. Scott in the studio at KISS FM 102.3 WKKF, but you now have brought perhaps the most interesting collaboration in recent years into fruition for this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival.

As of November 2012, over 135 million people had already downloaded the iHeartRadio app. The festival, which now has brought together artists as variable as Justin Bieber and Green Day into one bill, will be bringing Fun. and Queen onto the same stage, according to…

Drake Added to iHeartRadio Festival

Streaming is taking over the world of music — or maybe it just seems so. Among all of the Spotify, Pandora, and other updates, radio is still thriving and celebrating its success in numerous ways. One of these most famous ways, the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas, will now see Justin Timberlake, Elton John, and Katy Perry joined by Canadian rapper Drake. The festival takes place Sept. 20 & 21 and tickets are available here.

The lineup is pretty large, as you can imagine. Joining those four will be Muse, J. Cole, Chris Brown, Phoenix, Ke$ha, …

Earlier this year, Las Vegas experimental post-hardcore act Apex of Apathy released one of the most promising full-length debuts of 2013 with The Flying Machine. Including sounds from not only post-hardcore, but genres such as pop-punk, progressive rock, and alternative rock as well, the album was a seriously satisfying listen that burst at the seams with potential.

Only a few months removed from the introduction of The Flying Machine, Apex are already setting their sights towards the future with plans to release a brand new EP, entitled Saltwater, before the year comes to a close. We had …

Flo Rida Ft. Future 2013

MUSIC VIDEO: Flo Rida Ft. Future – “Tell Me When You Ready”

Flo Rida brings out Future in the visuals for his brand new single “Tell Me When You Ready.” No word yet where this song will end up but it looks like Flo has something up his sleeve.

This Gil Green-directed clip heads out to Las Vegas for fun and excitement, with girls and endless amounts of clear liquor everywhere. So much for what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Purchase the single over on iTunes if you feel the sudden urge. What did you like most about the song?

MOVIE TRAILER: The Hangover Part III

It’s here: the trailer for The Hangover Part III has been unleashed onto the internet today, and we’re coming full circle. The wolfpack hits Las Vegas one last time in the wake of Alan’s father’s death, and as you can imagine, things get a bit out of hand. From the little plot details we’ve been given, The Hangover Part III will tell Alan’s story, and from what it looks like, disregards the “we got so blackout drunk, we got to find ____” storytelling from the previous two films.

From the trailer, we get to see John Goodman shoot someone, Alan …

Billie Joe Armstrong Talks Substance Abuse, Recovery In Rolling Stone Interview

Green Day front man and songwriter Billie Joe Armstrong recently sat down with David Fricke of Rolling Stone Magazine to dish about his substance abuse and subsequent recovery.

It’s a fairly incredible story, if only for the fact that there really wasn’t any public indications of Armstrong’s issues prior to his outburst at back in September at the iheartradio Festival in Las Vegas. But Armstrong delves pretty deep into some of the more harrowing behind the scenes moments.

REVIEW: Last Call – Dog Years

Band: Last Call
Album: Dog Years
Genre: Pop-Punk
Label: Broken Arrow Collective

I really love checking out new bands. I’m sometimes pretty critical, because I have a lot of bands that I’m super into already. This may mean I’m getting old, or maybe I’ve just been oversaturated with music already, but lately I look at music with a more critical eye, because frankly I don’t need a ton more bands to love. However that doesn’t mean I’m not always looking for more, because I am. I want to be impressed, I want to feel that sense of freshness listening to …
