UTG PHOTOS: Into It. Over It., Kevin Devine and Laura Stevenson in Philadelphia, PA (2/7/15)

Under The Gun welcomes new photographer, Ally Newbold, as she attended The Sanctuary in Philadelphia, PA on 2/7/15.

One of my first shows in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was at the First Unitarian Church. Imagine a humid, sweaty basement filled with over 500 people, no barricade and cheap PBR getting tossed among the crowd. When exiting the Church after a show, you walk out covered in other people’s sweat, amongst your own, drenched in booze; the smelliest you’ve been in a hot minute. I went to the First Unitarian Church to see Evan Weiss of Into It. Over It., Kevin Devine and …

Meredith Graves To Release Solo LP In 2015

A couple of days ago we reported that Perfect Pussy‘s frontwoman, Meredith Graves, confirmed in an interview with Turned Out Punk that she will release a 7″ split with Kevin Devine. In a new interview with DIY Mag, the artist also confirmed that she plans on dropping a solo LP as well.

Perfect Pussy will be heading out on tour this January in Australia and New Zealand. Dates and tickets can be found through Ground Control Touring.

Meredith Graves (Perfect Pussy) And Kevin Devine To Release 7″ Split Next Year

Split EPs are one of my favorite things. It’s a great way for artists to create more music without having to commit to a full album, or even a five or six track EP. It’s also an opportunity for them to collaborate with artists they may have never worked with before. It’s not even the end of December yet, and I already have one of those collaborations to look forward to for next year.

In an interview with Turned Out A Punk, Meredith Graves, who is the frontwoman of the rock group Perfect Pussy, confirmed that she would be …

Kevin Devine Releases Alternate Music Video For “She Can See Me”

Kevin Devine is on the move since the release of the 7″ vinyl for his single “She Can See Me,” which came out today via Bad Timing Records, Devinyl Records, and Favorite Gentlemen Recordings. What’s interesting about this song though is that there are two different versions, one on each of the two albums Devine released simultaneously last year, Bulldozer and Bubblegum. The version on Bulldozer is a much lighter rendition of the song while the latter on Bubblegum is the aggressive take.

To celebrate the release of the vinyl, the Brooklyn, NY native has released the official music …

Kevin Devine Releases Video For “She Can See Me,” Announces Tour With Into It. Over It.

It surely is a big day for Kevin Devine. After the announcement of his 7″ vinyl pressing for the track “She Can See Me” a couple weeks back, the Brooklyn singer/guitarist has released a music video (via Billboard) for the song that originally appeared on Bulldozer. This is not to be confused with the more aggressive alternate version that appears on Bubblegum.

It was also announced today that Devine would be going on a co-headlining acoustic tour with modern emo revivalist Into It. Over It., with support from fellow Brooklyn artist Laura Stevenson. The …

Kevin Devine Releases Official Fan-Made Music Video For “Fiscal Cliff”

A little over a month ago, Kevin Devine and The Goddamn Band held a video making contest for their song “Fiscal Cliff” from their 2013 release, Bubblegum.

Devine announced today that the winner of the contest is a fan named Nick Riccardo. The music video, as suggested by the band, consists of a collection of public footage meshed together, resulting in a quirky, old-school type music video, similar to a lot of the band’s music videos from the past.

You can watch the new video for “Fiscal Cliff” below.

Mike Skinner Of The Goddamn Band And Miracle Of 86 Has Passed Away

It’s a sad day indeed. Kevin Devine has let fans know that one of his close friends and collaborators on The Goddamn Band and Miracle Of 86, Mike Skinner, passed away this past weekend. You can read the heartfelt statement posted by Devine earlier in the day below the break.

Skinner had a huge influence over a number of works he was a part of. He will be missed not only as a talented musician, but as a friend to the other members of the bands he was in. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
