Kevin Devine Releases Official Fan-Made Music Video For “Fiscal Cliff”

A little over a month ago, Kevin Devine and The Goddamn Band held a video making contest for their song “Fiscal Cliff” from their 2013 release, Bubblegum.

Devine announced today that the winner of the contest is a fan named Nick Riccardo. The music video, as suggested by the band, consists of a collection of public footage meshed together, resulting in a quirky, old-school type music video, similar to a lot of the band’s music videos from the past.

Mike Skinner Of The Goddamn Band And Miracle Of 86 Has Passed Away

It’s a sad day indeed. Kevin Devine has let fans know that one of his close friends and collaborators on The Goddamn Band and Miracle Of 86, Mike Skinner, passed away this past weekend. You can read the heartfelt statement posted by Devine earlier in the day below the break.

Skinner had a huge influence over a number of works he was a part of. He will be missed not only as a talented musician, but as a friend to the other members of the bands he was in. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.…

Sombear Remixes Kevin Devine’s “Red Bird”

Kevin Devine has released a brand new version of his track “Red Bird” as remixed by Sombear (Brad Hale of Now, Now). The track originally appeared on Devine’s 2013 release Bubblegum.

Devine described the track online, saying “it’s excellent, takes liberties, becomes its own standalone animal, maintains some 90s inflections but from a totally different side of the decade.” If you’re looking to check out more music from Sombear, head to his Soundcloud page.
