Kevin Devine Confirms Guest Vocals Of Isobel Campbell For LP7

Kevin Devine has just wrapped up recording his seventh studio album. According to his Facebook page all that’s left is mixing and mastering. That’s one step closer to having his new album in your hands!

Kevin Devine has also indicated that his new album will feature guest vocals from Isobel Campbell (known from Belle & Sebastian) on a song titled “For Eugene.” You can check out what he had to say by taking a look below the jump.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more updates on the album, I’m sure we will be hearing more about it …

Bad Books Perform “No Sides” Acoustic

Rockers Bad Books were filmed performing their new song “No Sides” acoustic.

This song is off of the group’s latest release, II, which hit shelves in October 2012 through Crown Records/Favorite Gentlemen. PureVolume.com has premiered Kevin Devine‘s performance of “Another Bag of Bones” on Eye Level.

Eye Level is a new educational series on Take Part TV in which each new segment features a different artist and the charity of their choice.

Devine chose to perform “Another Bag of Bones” on behalf of Doctors Without Borders, Devine’s charity of choice.

Kevin Devine & Andy Hull Release Details About Upcoming LPs

In a recent interview with Property Of Zack, Kevin Devine and Andy Hull (Manchester Orchestra, Bad Books) spoke in depth about their bands, their past and upcoming plans for the future as musicians.

Kevin Devine has confirmed that he will start recording a new full length album March 11, and then will start work on a second LP April 14. Manchester Orchestra will also be hitting the studio on March 11 to begin recording their fourth full length album. Additionally, MO will be releasing a split with Grouplove, and a second split with Frightened Rabbit. More …

Kevin Devine Details Progress On Kickstarter-Funded Solo And Full Band Albums

Singer-songwriter Kevin Devine took to Facebook to update fans on his progress and plans for his upcoming solo and full band projects.

Devine notably secured the money for a solo effort, a full band release as Kevin Devine and The Goddamn Band, and supporting tours for both albums through a wildly successful (and still ongoing) Kickstarter campaign.

“Progress on both records has been constant & encouraging,” said Devine.

Well the boys in the Brooklyn via Florida have been busy prepping their followup LP,Pythons, over the past couple months. Instead of going it alone, they’re working with some heavy hitters this time around. Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World) produced the whole shebang while Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Kevin Devine, Saves The Day) helmed the mixing boards.

FUNDED: Protest The Hero Raise $125,000 In Less Than A Day

Yesterday evening we brought you news that metal favorites Protest The Hero were seeking funding for the recording of their fourth studio album. As of noon today, that goal has not only been met, but surpassed. At the time of posting, the group’s Indiegogo account was already at $25,656.

Protest The Hero’s success with fan funding is the second such tale to cross the newswire this week. Just days ago New York singer/songwriter Kevin Devine managed to raise $50,000 for the recording and promotion of two full length releases. Kevin Devine Posts New Song Lyrics

Indie singer/songwriter (and brother of my favorite sports writer, Dan) Kevin Devine had his birthday on December 19. To thank his fans for the well wishes, he posted new song lyrics on his Facebook page.

In addition to being a solo artist, Kevin also is a part of Bad Books recently went public with the Miracle Of 86 reunion that’s coming. He’s had a handful of shows in New York in this month; it’s looking like he’ll have a busy 2013, too.

Kevin Devine Announces Miracle Of 86 Reunion For Hurricane Sandy Benefit

Singer/songwriter Kevin Devine got his start in the band Miracle Of 86. Yesterday, he unveiled their new Twitter account; today, on Facebook and Tumblr, he revealed that they play to do a reunion show on Saturday, January 26, 2013 to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. The $20 show will be in Long Island.

The show will be their first in more than eight years, but it may not be their last. In Devine’s own words, “Miracle of 86 will reunite on Saturday, January 26th, 2013 at Full Cup (for one-night only, at least for now) to raise money

Bad Books Announce Winter Tour

Bad Books, the side project of Kevin Devine and Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra, have announced an upcoming winter tour. The tour, which kicks off on February 13, will feature support from The Front Bottoms and Weatherbox.

WATCH: Kevin Devine with Jesse Lacey (Brand New) – “Cotton Crush” (Live)

This past Saturday in New York City, Kevin Devine and the God Damn Band did a show celebrating ten years of making music together where they played three of Devine’s albums (Circle Gets The Square, Split the Country, Split the Street, Between the Concrete & Clouds) front to back. On the original version of “Cotton Crush,” Jesse Lacey from Brand New sings some backing vocals. Live on Saturday, he recreated the performance.
