Bradley Walden, the front man for the Michigan rock band, recently teamed up with Lisa Vitale to cover John Lennon’s post-Vietnam War Christmas classic “Happy Xmas, War Is Over”. The duo nail the cover of it.

Anyway, welcome back to Monday Morning Mind-Melters. It’s been forever and a day since the last entry, but this is the Internet and I do what I want.

On this day in 1942 Sir Paul McCartney was born James Paul McCartney in Liverpool, England. The son of working class parents, Paul grew up modestly, but comfortably, in post-war England. His father, a jazz player and pianist, encouraged Paul to play music at an early age. In the spring of 1957, at the age of fifteen, Paul joined his first band, The Quarrymen. It was the start of a musical revolution that would change not only Rock n’ Roll, but culture in general.

On this day in 1976, a reunion six years in the making took place; no, not a musical reunion, but rather a personal reunion. Six years after the The Beatles posthumously released what would be their last album, Let It Be,  Paul McCartney and his wife, Linda, visited John Lennon at Lennon’s apartment in New York City.

Rock’s Backpages, the world’s largest online library of rock journalism, is launching an eBooks department in celebration of it’s 10th birthday in November. This new branch is headed by former MOJO editor Mat Snow. The eBooks will consist of two series which further initiate Rock’s Backpages as an electronic publisher of elite rock writing.

Go Radio performed “Goodnight Moon” on the John Lennon Bus on Warped Tour. The John Lennon Bus is an educational tour bus built with state-of-the-art recording equipment and HD video equipment. In the bus you can record a few tracks or even shoot a music video. Go Radio won a contest from Whooznxt, to record this track on the bus.
