LIVE REVIEW: Jimmy Eat World at Wooly’s in Des Moines, Iowa (10/10/2014)

There’s something comprehendingly special about packing tight into a sold out club to witness a record so undeniably important to so many people being played in its entirety — and that’s what happened Friday night in Des Moines for Jimmy Eat World‘s ‘Futures’ tour.

The album that brought emotional singles such as “Pain” and “Work” played front to back live last Friday in Des Moines, Iowa. Wooly’s, the venue that held the show, isn’t a huge theater or magnificent arena. It’s a rock & roll club. It’s the type of place you go to get sweaty and shout …

All Time Low Cover Jimmy Eat World’s “Hear You Me”

All Time Low are a band born out of a mutual admiration for the influential punk and indie bands of the early 2000s, so it may come as no surprise that the group recently paid tribute to one of their favorite bands during a benefit performance in Baltimore.

On July 12 of this year, the members of All Time Low performed a stripped down set as part of a benefit show in Baltimore, MD. During their show, the guys surprised fans by sharing a full band acoustic cover of Jimmy Eat World’s “Hear You Me.” We were not on the …

Troy Sennett’s ‘Best of 2013′ In Music

Let’s talk about moments.

Around 5:00 PM on June 8, 2013, I watched Spitalfield play “Stolen From Some Great Writer” to an empty theater. This was a band I never thought I would have the chance to see live soundchecking for a ten-year anniversary performance of Remember Right Now, a record that had a huge impact on me as a musician and as a person in my early teens. It was intensely personal and universal at the same time, one of those moments that made me feel like a part of something bigger than myself while also acting as …

Austin City Limits

Austin City Limits Releases Schedule

Austin, TX’s slogan should include not only keeping the DIY-centered city “weird,” but musical too. Austin City Limits returns this year for two weekends, October 4-6 and October 11-13, and the schedule has just been released. Much to festival-goers’ delights, the two weekends have a pretty similar schedule. Much to festival-goers’ disappointment, there are some tough clashes to choose from. Overall, though, I think it looks better than last year’s great lineup.

Pick and plan your (dream) schedule from the set times announced on their official website. Some of the tough clashes include Jimmy Eat World/Smith

ALBUM STREAM: Jimmy Eat World – ‘Damage’

It’s finally here; Jimmy Eat World are streaming Damage in its entirety at their website. Listen here.

As Confront Magazine points out, the band took to social media for the stream. Instead of a regular release, fans needed to tweet each song in order to unlock them. Once enough tweets piled in, a new song would be “unlocked.”

About half of the new record’s tracks have been floating about the web, from live performances to the new music video for “I Will Steal You Back”. Hearing the songs in their proper order and with a good set of …
