Drake Surprises Fans And Allegedly Disses Jay Z With “Draft Day”

Oh wait, sidebar..left some beat at the end so that all of you fuck niggas could loop it and get your lies off.

Drake is like hip-hop’s Santa Claus the way he waits until half the world is asleep to surprise fans with new material. You never know when he is going to bless us with another insight on life at the top, but whenever it happens you’re bound to feel like Christmas came early.

Last night, Drizzy Drake once again made a late night appearance on social media to release a track no one was expecting. The …

Machine Gun Kelly And DJ Whoo Kid Collaborate On “State Of Mind”

Machine Gun Kelly has spent the better part of the past several months working on new material and performing wherever there is a crowd looking to get hype. This morning, out of nowhere, the kid from Cleveland shares a new track created in collaboration with DJ Whoo Kid that is bound to take your day to the next level.

Offering some of his first bars of 2014, Machine Gun Kelly uses “State Of Mind” to remind you why he is the greatest and most underrated in the hip-hop game. The track itself is built on the back of Jay-Z and …

Quvenzhané Wallis Shines In First ‘Annie’ Trailer

I never wanted to see Annie remade. It’s not because I love the original film so much I feel it could never be topped, or that I have some passion for the Broadway version, but I was just not sure the story and music would work with audiences today. Then Jay Z said he was interested in helping out, and suddenly I thought, “why not?” In the moment I may have become everything we claim to hate here at UTG about the millennial crowd, but after viewing the first trailer for Will Gluck’s upcoming adaptation I am more convinced than …

Watch Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon Perform History of Rap Part 5

If you’re like me, then you’ve watched the four episodes of Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon performing the history of rap way too many times. Good news: now there’s a new one to memorize.

Last night Justin Timberlake went on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to do a reprise of their History of Rap series. Pay attention. They’ve merged recent hits with oldies for another good mix of rap, including Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Jay Z, N.W.A., OutKast, Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Run-D.M.C., Beastie Boys, Skee-Lo, LL Cool J, Biggie, and more. Watch it below:…

M.I.A. 2013

M.I.A Leaving Roc Nation

In a tweet wishing her followers a happy new year, M.I.A also included another piece of information: she’s leaving Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Jay Z.

The English rapper has been signed to Roc Nation since May of 2012. Earlier this year, the company pulled a trailer for an M.I.A documentary from YouTube. M.I.A didn’t respond well (she claimed she’d been “blacklisted”), which may have spurred her decision to leave Roc Nation.

You can view M.I.A’s tweet with her announcement below.…

See the 20 Most Pirated Musicians of 2013

This year was big for music, and, as always, a big loss in terms of sales. According to to new statistics released from music analytics firm Musicmetric, Daft Punk, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, and Drake were a few of the musicians to see their music illegally downloaded the most in 2013. Bruno Mars and Rihanna came in first and second, respectively, with Mars’ singles peaking at 5,783,556 downloads and Rihanna’s at 5,414,166 downloads.

If you’re having trouble remembering what exactly Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and half of the other artists on this list put out this year, know you aren’t out

Rick Ross Debuts “The Devil Is A Lie” Featuring Jay Z

Maybach Music Group CEO Rick Ross may have pushed his long-awaited new album Mastermind back to 2014, but he’s still looking out for fans with the unannounced release of his Jay Z collaborative single, “The Devil Is A Lie.”

Teased since October, “The Devil Is A Lie” pairs two of hip-hop’s finest against a hard-hitting beat that you’ll want to blast from every sound system you own. Both emcees bring their fair share of wordplay and ego to their verses, though I do think Jigga lyrically puts Ross in his place. You can stream the song and decide for yourself, …

Beyoncé Releases Videos For “Drunk In Love” And “XO”

As you may have heard, Beyoncé dropped a surprise album on Thursday night. It’s self-titled, contains 14 tracks and 17 videos, and has been, by all accounts, an instant success. Reactions and reviews have been rapturous, and the sales numbers have been impressive. Beyoncé was already a pop superstar. After this, we need to consider a new title. Her husband’s the biggest rapper on the planet, and she certainly has now outdone his 2013.

While we consider a new title for the new queen of the internet, we’ve been supplied with the videos for the first two radio …

Beyonce Emerges Without Warning; Drops Album On iTunes

Remember that time Beyonce put out a record tonight. Surprised? Yea, so is everyone else.

The album is self-titled and features familiar favorites Drake, Frank Ocean, hubby Jay-Z, and kid Blue Ivy. There is a whopping 14 songs and 17 accompanying videos on the release. Quite the undertaking for a secret project.

Of course this means the only thing people will be talking about for the remainder of the year is this record. Smart move, B. This marks the 5th studio album from the superstar, following 2011′s release, 4. Columbia Records is referring to it as …

Hear DJ Earworm’s Mashup of the Top 25 Songs From 2013

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time of the year. DJ Earworm has once again taken on the challenge of mixing the top 25 songs of the year into one know-it-all song. And, as usual, it sounds pretty good.

Clocking in around five minutes, the mashup features samples from Lorde, Daft Punk, Eminem, Katy Perry, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Jay-Z, and more. It’s a step-up from last year’s song, but I have to say that 2010′s is the best wrap-up mashup DJ Earworm has done (or at least in my heart, anyway).

See the full list of songs sampled as well …

Jay-Z Ranks His Own Discography From Best To Worst

Jay-Z, newly enlightened vegan, has decided to rank his own discography from best to worst. What prompted him to do so? We’re not really sure, but nonetheless the short annotations he provided for each album is entertaining enough to check out the list. It’s not every day that we see musicians critique their own work, so it’s something funny for fans to see.

His list of insightful reasons include “gave Frank a run for his money” and “so ghetto.” You can check out what he had to say by taking a look below the jump.

What are your thoughts? …
