Taylor Swift Debuts Rock Version Of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”

Update #1: Video of full performance now added.

Original post: Taylor Swift kicked off her 1989 World Tour last night in Japan, and as suspected countless entertainment blogs have already posted full reviews of the show, including set lists, wardrobes, and more. Just Google ‘Taylor Swift Tour‘ and see what I mean.

So far, the biggest piece of news to come out of all the Swift live coverage has been the reveal that the twenty-something pop star is currently playing a more rock oriented version of her hit “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” during her show. …

Black Sabbath Announce Final Live Performance

The heavy metal pioneers of Black Sabbath have announced their final live performance, which will take place at Ozzfest Japan on November 22. From all indications, the outfit’s original lineup will be present, with the exception of drummer Bill Ward, who has been at odds with his bandmates for the past three years.

As many will likely recall, the Birmingham four-piece reunited for a second time back in 2012, shortly before the release of their nineteenth studio album, 13. Since then, the group has been dominating the tour circuit, and working on their twentieth LP with producer Rick Rubin.…

UTG INTERVIEW: Corpus Discuss ‘The Sliding Scale of Morality’

Sometimes, while waiting for a headliner to take the stage, you encounter a support act whose performance flips the script on your expectations and leaves an indelible mark on your memories of the night. For me, Corpus is one of those acts.

Personally selected by Bert McCracken to support The Used on the Australian leg of their dual headlining tour with Taking Back Sunday, the duo from Western Sydney took the eyes and ears of the Melbourne audience hostage with an energetic, raw and utterly captivating performance that didn’t so much as just warm the stage as set it on …

REVIEW: Corpus – ‘The Sliding Scale Of Morality’

Artist: Corpus
Album: The Sliding Scale of Morality
Genre: Post-Hardcore, Indie

Sydney duo Corpus have been causing quite the ruckus down under over the last three years with their unique brand of indie-tinged post-hardcore and riotous live shows, earning them dizzying acclaim from some of the scene’s most discerning ears (including Sydney resident and frontman of The Used, Bert McCracken). If the band’s latest release, The Sliding Scale of Morality, is received the way it seems destined to be, then the volume of those voices of acclaim is going to become deafening.…

Gerard Way Announces Two Shows In Japan

Gerard Way will be making his way to Japan in February of 2015, following the upcoming September release of his debut solo album, Hesitant Alien.

The Japanese shows will take place first on February 16, 2015 in Osaka at the BIGCAT, and the second February 17, 2015 at Akasaka Blitz.

Two tracks have been released from Way’s highly anticipated debut thus far, and they both rule. Channeling vibes from British pop music, and a sonic catalogue from the ’60s, Hesitant Alien is something I am anxiously awaiting for release.

Sony Altering ‘The Interview’ To Ensure North Korea Doesn’t Try To Kill Us All

Not long ago, we brought you news that Sony had decided to move the release of their Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy, The Interview, from October to Christmas Day. The move was said to be made after the studio realized the late December date would potentially yield higher revenue, but a story from THR today has us believing something else may have caused the delay.

According to reports, Sony Pictures is currently digitally manipulating The Interview in order to appease North Korea. One change is very small, but the other could very well change the film’s climax altogether. …

Here Is The Reason Why Everyone Is Suddenly Interested In Avril Lavigne Again

Avril Lavigne – aka Mrs. Chad Kroeger – has gone through many musical evolutions since the days when she hung out with Sk8r Bois at the local mall, but her latest transformation may baffle even longtime supporters (if those even exist at this point).

“Hello Kitty” is the latest single and video to be release from Lavigne as a means to promote her 2013 self-titled album. It’s a wildly chaotic clip, which finds Avril and a team of Japanese dancers attempting to spark viral video trendiness with over-the-top visuals, weird costumes, and all the bright colors you can possibly imagine. …

First Trailer For ‘The Wolverine’ Takes Us To Japan

The return of Iron Man and Superman to the big screen has been the focus of most superhero fandom in recent months, but Tony Stark and Clark Kent are not the only comic book characters appearing on the silver screen this Summer.

Hugh Jackman is once again letting his side burns grow to reprise his most popular role in The Wolverine. Based on the celebrated comic book arc, the movie will take Wolverine to modern-day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world, he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that …

WATCH: Nate Barcalow (Finch) – “Ender” (Live In Japan Acoustic)

One Nate Barcalow, vocalist for Finch, Reverend Crow, and Earthbound Ghost, recently did a benefit show in Japan as a solo artist with Matt Embree from RX Bandits. Vinnie Caruana was supposed to perform, but had to cancel. We’ve got our hands on a video of Nate covering Finch’s song “Ender” by his lonesome. Similar benefit shows like this have been done by Matt and Vinnie in Manhattan before. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that with Sandy, these guys work together again for the right reason.

Finch is also going on tour in …

Nate Barcalow (ex-Finch), Matt Embree (ex-RX Bandits), & Vinnie Caruana (ex-The Movielife) To Do One Off Show

Nate Barcalow (ex-Finch, currently in both Earthbound Ghost and Reverend Crow), Matt Embree (formerly of the RX Bandits & Pebaluna), and Vinnie Caruana (formerly of The Movielife and now of Peace’d Out) have announced one show together, in Japan, called “Songs From Across The Sea”. The show is on December 2.

The show itself is a fairly surprising lineup for what it entails: each member is not known for their work as a solo artist, but each one will be taking the stage alone, just a man and their guitar. What’s more interesting is that Vinnie …
