Incubus Will Be Releasing Two New EPs in 2015

After a quiet couple years, with side/solo projects taking over much of that time, renowned alternative rockers Incubus are ready to make a big comeback for 2015. This is the newest material the band has recorded since 2011′s If Not Now, When? which was released on Epic Records.

Australia’s heavy music festival monolith, Soundwave, has made a mammoth lineup announcement for 2015 with Faith No More, Soundgarden, Slipknot, Incubus, Marilyn Manson and several other renowned acts leading arguably the festival’s strongest billing yet.

Expanding to a two-day format for the first time in 2015, Soundwave will take place in four cities across two weekends, with every act playing in each city on an alternating schedule that organizers have simply labelled ‘Day One’ and ‘Day Two.’

Incubus Teaming Up With RYOT To Raise Money For The Philippines

Since the typhoon hit the Philippines, tons of support has been pouring in from all over the world. The latest group to step up to offer their help is the rock outfit known as Incubus. The band will be offering up memorabilia items to those who decide to donate. The band is hoping to raise $25,000 to $50,000, and have indicated that The Make Yourself Foundation will match the money they raise up to $25,000.

Marr, Einziger and Pharrell Join Zimmer for ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2′ Score

A tweet from director Marc Webb has revealed Johnny Marr (The Smiths, etc.), Pharrell Williams and Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger are working with composer Hans Zimmer on the score for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

From time to time, a chance to interview someone we’ve long admired comes up that we simply cannot resist. Stevie Rennie is a music industry expert who started as a promoter in Los Angeles, became a record executive for Epic Records, and ended up managing Incubus. He’s now started his own website for those who want to learn about the music industry, Renman Music & Business (or RenmanMB), and launched an Indiegogo campaign to support it. Earlier this month, we learned of Brandon Boyd’s second solo release being a work with producer Brendan O’Brien, and that he had titled the “band” Sons of the Sea. The EP, Compass, comes out tomorrow, June 25; the Incubus front man released a lyric video on today. It should also be noted that in the Elle article, they call the Goo Goo Dolls and Incubus grunge. Though it hasn’t gotten the largest amount of publicity in the world thus far, Incubus front man Brandon Boyd is releasing his album with producer Brendan O’Brien. He had a solo album in 2010 called The Wild Trapeze, and Rolling Stone reports that this project is called Sons of the Sea. He described the upcoming release as “oddball pop.”
