WATCH: Vampire Weekend – “Unbelievers” on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Jimmy Kimmel Live was recorded in Brooklyn this week, weathering the storm that was Sandy. They had a number of New York City based acts and guests on the show, including indie rockers Vampire Weekend, who premiered a new song, “Unbelievers”, on the show last night. They did so dressed for Halloween, looking ridiculous in the process.

What do you think of the song? Do you think it’s as quality as the songs that got them a name, or is it just more hipster noise? Watch the performance here and let us know your thoughts in the comments by …

REVIEW: PS I Love You – Death Dreams

Artist: PS I Love You
Album: Death Dreams
Genre: Rock, Indie
Label: Paper Bag Records

Those darkened rooms creep into our psyches, reminding us of the people we love and how vulnerable we are to the desire for them to approve of us.

Though Death Dreams screams of reoccurring slumber interrupted …

You Need To Know: Miniature Tigers

miniaturetigersBeing an up and coming website can have its drawbacks. The worst of which being not working with every band you dream of working with [at least not right away].  So, even though I have no real news to post,  we need to discuss Miniature Tigers. Grizzly Bear – Veckatimest

grizzly_bear-veckatimest-cover-betterBand: Grizzly Bear
Album: Veckatimest
Genre: Neo-Psychedelia/ art-rock
Label: Warp Records

Easily one of the most stunning albums of 2009, Veckatimest manages to combine all the aspects of music that Grizzly Bear is loved for and create an accessible album that begs the listener to press the repeat button. Unlike many awaited albums this year, Veckatimest—named after the smallest of the Elizabeth Islands in Massachusetts, feels quiet and unpretentious, slowly setting up residence in your head. The album creates a relaxing atmosphere with vocal harmonies, acoustic guitars, and lots of rhythm, similar to previous album Yellow House. As with Yellow …
