Atreyu Tease Ending Hiatus; Consider Recording With “None Of That Major Label BS”

Remember Atreyu? A decade ago they were the next great heavy hope of Victory Records and their album The Curse was in production, but just over two years ago the group announced they would be taking “a long break” with the promise of not breaking up. The members quickly embarked on various solo projects and new groups, none of which have found success comparable to Atreyu, and now it seems the men from Orange County may be together once again.

On Saturday, May 11, a status update was posted to the official Atreyu account that reads “REPOST- …

REVIEW: Streetlight Manifesto – The Hands That Thieve

Artist: Streetlight Manifesto
Album: The Hands That Thieve
Genre: Ska

Ska music has a bad rep these days. It’s gotten to a point where people consider it lame when you say that you’re listening to ska, like you’re some sort of leper who listens to Top 40 radio. “Skas Dead!” they all say. While yes, some ska is kinda lame, ska that is done well is some of the most exciting music you can hope to hear. Saying you love Streetlight Manifesto is basically cliché at this point in the game, but I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because they’re …

This is not an April Fool’s joke. Today we are happy to share that Iowa-based hardcore band Modern Life is War has come out of their basement to announce that they are back. Tigers Jaw Announce Their Hiatus

No matter where you live, of all of the words in the dictionary, “hiatus” is one that never sits well in the ears of music fans. Tigers Jaw have recently announced their premature hiatus earlier today, citing “personal reasons” as the cause of a split among the five band mates.

The group still plans on touring the US in a few months, along with doing a run of European dates with The Menzingers in August.

HOLY SH!T: Nine Inch Nails Returning And Touring This Year

Well, this caught me by surprise.

Trent Reznor released a note on hipster music site Pitchfork saying the following:

NOTE FROM TRENT:

Nine Inch Nails are touring this year.

I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show. Calls were made to some friends, lots of new ideas were discussed, and a show was booked – which led to another,

Trapped Under Ice Announces Hiatus

Well hardcore heads, the time has come. Baltimore hardcore group Trapped Under Ice just announced that they will be going on hiatus after This is Hardcore in August. Announcing the hiatus via a lengthy note on their Facebook page, TUI will be playing a slew of shows from now until This is Hardcore, and then after Philadelphia’s premier festival the band will be taking a break for several years. The band projects that they will be coming back to the hardcore scene in 2015.

Dave Grohl States That Work On The Next Foo Fighters Will Begin This Week, Confirms End Of Hiatus

Well that was fast.

Dave Grohl, svengali of rock outfit Foo Fighters, has made it clear that his group’s hiatus is over. On February 20, while on stage at The BRIT Awards in London, Grohl told James Corden, the host of the event, “I return to Los Angeles tomorrow to start work on a Foo Fighters record”.

This isn’t completely shocking news. Grohl has hinted in recent weeks at upcoming activity from the Fighters. In January, while promoting his Sound City documentary at Sundance, Grohl told MTV that, “But we have a plan, we know exactly what’s …
