Gwar To Tour The United States

Self proclaimed international space mutants Gwar will start their tour tomorrow. The opener will be Devildriver. This comes in light of the recent video of Kansas’ “Carry On My Wayward Son”. Kansas, in Gwar’s own words, was a “big part of  music where bands are named after geographical locations.

This will be the first tour featuring new lead guitarist Pustulus Maximus. Pustulus replaces former guitarist Flattus Maximus, who was found dead in November of last year. No, I am not making that up.

WATCH: Gwar Cover “Carry On My Wayward Son” For AVClub

Intergalactic rock gods Gwar have always been known for their sense of humor, and today’s post is no different. Recently, the Bloody Pit Of Horror rockers partnered with AVClub and Starbucks to record a live cover of Kansas’ hit song, “Carry On My Wayward Son.” The performance is the first to surface with the bands newest member, Pustulus Maximus, and the results of the cover are as entertaining as you would imagine. Gwar Announce Full US Tour

Heavy metal rockers Gwar have announced a full run of the US kicking off this March. After announcing an impressive benefit concert for the bands late guitarist Cory Smoot, Gwar announced they would also be touring soon. The band have now announced they will tour the country with direct support from Municipal Waste and Ghoul.

Autopsy Report of GWAR Guitarist Cory Smoot Released

A month ago, Under the Gun Review brought you the news of the untimely death of Cory Smoot, guitarist of costume clad rock band, GWAR. Today, the results of his autopsy have become public by word of the coroner and we have the details.

North Dakota coroner William Masselo, MD released the following statement regarding his death:

“We have finalized the autopsy report and death certificate. I have determined that Cory died from a coronary artery thrombosis brought about by his pre-existing coronary artery disease.”

Cory Smoot Benefit Concert Revealed

We were all stunned and devastated to find out when Gwar’s guitarist Cory Smoot (Flattus Maximus) passed away unexpectedly, as the band prepared to cross the Canadian border, on their North American tour. The band and Cory Smoot’s family have organized a benefit concert and UTG has all the details.

The benefit event will be held on Saturday, January 7 at the Canal Club in Richmond, VA with performances from Mensrea, Cannabis Corpse, Antietam 1862 and many more. All proceeds with go to the Cory Smoot Family Fund.

Gwar Frontman Issues New Statement On Cory Smoot’s Death

Gwar frontman Dave “Oderus Urungus” Brockie has issued a very heartfelt and tear-jerking statment regarding the loss of their guitarist Cory “Flattus Maximus” Smoot. Cory was was found dead Thursday morning as the band prepared to cross the Canadian border on their North American tour.

MetalSucks is reporting that Gwar guitarist Cory Smoot (aka Flattus Maximus) was found dead this morning as the band prepared to cross the Canadian border on their North American tour.
