New Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert Released From Hospital

We’re glad to announce that in wake of last night’s news of Chad Gilbert being electrocuted from a microphone during one of two performances at Anaheim, California’s Chain Reaction for New Found Glory‘s upcoming live album, the guitarist has now been released from the hospital.

Staind Guitarist Mike Mushok Joins Newsted

Staind guitarist Mike Mushok announced that he has joined the band Newsted. Newsted has been built around former Metallica and Voivod bassist Jason Newsted.

Staind are still going as a band so that means Mushok will be pulling double duty.

The group will be touring Europe in June on the festival circuit so catch them and check out what they have to offer. Festival routing can be seen by simply heading through the link provided.

Thomas Erak (Ex-Fall Of Troy) Joins Chiodos

Michigan’s hard rock act Chiodos has officially announced Thomas Erak (ex-Fall Of Troy) as their new guitarist. The decision comes two months after Jason Hale parted ways with the group.

In an announcement video released this morning, Erak introduces himself to fans, gives some insight into his musical background, and hints at a small change in sound on Chiodos’ new material. You can view the announcement blow.

Chiodos are currently working on their first album with frontman Craig Owens since Bone Palace Ballet. Stay tuned for additional recording updates in the coming weeks.

This seemed out of nowhere to me given that the band was already releasing new music in 2013, but guitarist Jona Weinhofen quit Bring Me The Horizon this morning. He did the announcement on his Tumblr. I would summarize, but the full post is short enough for you to read for yourself:

After a lot of time and thought ive decided to leave my current position as guitarist with Bring Me The Horizon. things in the band have been very tense with a lot of disagreements between myself and certain members who i wont name.

Slipknot’s Jim Root Missing Initial Dates Of Mayhem Festival Due To Appendix Bursting

This is incredible. Slipknot guitarist Jim Root will have to miss initial touring dates on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival due to having surgery to remove his appendix. The crazy part is that Root’s appendix burst over two weeks ago and he’s been dealing with the immense pain that comes with it for this long. What a champ!
