Grant Trimboli Staind guitarist Mike Mushok announced that he has joined the band Newsted. Newsted has been built around former Metallica and Voivod bassist Jason Newsted.
Staind are still going as a band so that means Mushok will be pulling double duty.
The group will be touring Europe in June on the festival circuit so catch them and check out what they have to offer. Festival routing can be seen by simply heading through the link provided.

October 22nd, 2012 Anthony Galasso Justin Vernon of Bon Iver has designed a guitar made from the wood of Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey barrels.
This unique guitar, called “The 1608″, was built by Gordy Bischoff, a luthier from Vernon’s home town of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The guitar is up for auction on eBay to help benefit Eau Claire’s Confluence Project, which is an effort to build a community arts center in the town.

October 13th, 2012 Dan Bogosian J Mascis, the singer, songwriter, and guitarist behind Dinosaur Jr, had his guitar stolen after a recent show. The guitar was stolen at the October 11 show in Oregon. The guitar is a white Squire Jazzmaster; ironically, this is a pretty cheap guitar – you can buy one new for $400. But hey, I guess he really loves HIS exact instrument.

July 31st, 2012 Tyler Osborne Recently at Vans’ Warped Tour in Camden, NJ, I sat down with Ryan Mendez, guitar player of Yellowcard to talk about the tour, bands they are excited about, their new record Southern Air, and their Fall plans. It was an absolute pleasure speaking with the man, and it only got me more anxious to see what Yellowcard has in store for us in the coming months.

November 10th, 2011 Grant Trimboli Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter has unveiled that the group will be losing their guitarists Rob Arnold and Matt DeVries. A loss for them but we are hopefully will recover with two more greats like these guys. UTG will fill you in on the latest happenings of Chimaira soon.

September 18th, 2011 James Shotwell Ghost Thrower guitarist Ben Anderson has lost his LTD LP guitar and needs our help locating it.
The group discovered the guitar was missing this weekend and posted the following message on Tumblr:
“ben is missing his LTD LP. We believe it was stolen in Charlestown or Cambridge on Friday afternoon. Reward? Maybe. Please be on the lookout, any info is helpful!”
