There are tons of great releases that will be hitting local record store shelves this coming Saturday, April 19. That day is the date for this year’s Record Store Day, and thousands of people across the country are drafting lengthy lists of their “must have” choices this year. Welcome back to Weekly Wax!

As has become the norm, some nostalgia-inducing represses from The Starting Line and Angels and Airwaves were announced that are guaranteed to have you singing along and remembering your high school days. A number of exciting new albums were announced as well, with Manchester Orchestra‘s Cope at the forefront. The band’s fourth album will be available as part of a box set that also includes three 7″ singles featuring non-album tracks. Green Day To “Take A Break” Following Spring Australian Tour

In a recent interview with BBC, Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead vocalist of Green Day, said that the group will be taking a hiatus for an unspecified amount of time following their upcoming Australian tour, which is set to run throughout February and into March.

“We’re going to Australia, doing a tour there, and then we’re going to take a break,” Armstrong said. “We haven’t really been doing much. So it’s just nice to kind of do some other things, y’know, when we get ready to do Green Day again, our batteries will be charged.”

Billie Joe Armstrong, the frontman of Green Day, and Norah Jones are releasing a duet LP titled Foreverly on November 25. Foreverly is a tribute album for The Everly Brothers, and the songs they cover are songs from the group’s 1958 album, Songs Our Daddy Taught Us. The duo have revealed a single off the album, titled “Silver Haired Daddy Of Mine.” You can listen to their rendition of the track by taking a look below the jump.

Soundwave Fest Adds A Slew Of New Bands To Lineup

Australia’s heavy music festival monolith, Soundwave, has made a huge line-up announcement for 2014 with an additional 38 bands being added to the already stacked line-up. Among the most notable acts added are Mastodon, A Day To Remember, Jimmy Eat World, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Panic! At The Disco and (for the very first time in Australia) Dir En Grey.

After a really long wait, the punks in Green Day finally released a new teaser trailer for their new documentary, ¡Cuatro! The documentary follows Green Day during the creation process of their new album trilogy, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!, and how they took a more stripped down, raw approach to writing and recording. For the past two albums, the band has taken to writing in the studio a lot more (because frankly they can afford that), but Green Day this time around got back to their roots and wrote the three albums in a small room, together.

WATCH: Green Day Play ‘Dookie’ in its Entirety at the Brixton Academy

California punks Green Day recently decided to play their iconic record, Dookie, from front to back at their show in the UK at the Brixton Academy. The band sounds fantastic, and while the video is shaky at points, it’s really awesome to see them give their fans such a nice treat.

For those who don’t keep up with dates, on February 1, 2014, Dookie will be celebrating its 20 year anniversary. Could this mean some more surprises for fans in the coming months? Time will tell. If so, let’s just hope those surprises come to the United States.
