The Swellers Release New Song, Announce New 7″

The Michigan punk rock group The Swellers have released a brand new song entitled “Vehicle City Blues”. The new track will appear on the bands brand new 7-inch along with another new song “Red Lights”. Each of the two new songs were originally recorded during the bands Good For Me sessions but did not appear on the album. The 7-inch will be released May 29 on SideOneDummy Records.

The band also announced they have parted ways with Fueled By Ramen Records but will be self-releasing an EP later this year before signing to a new label in 2013. Pre-orders for …

Michigan natives The Swellers have unleashed their music video for the song “Inside My Head” and can be viewed right here on Under The Gun Review!

This awesome Mitchell Wojcik-directed video shows the band enrolling in a big brother program and the end results are hilarious. The song comes off of the group’s latest album, Good For Me, through Fueled By Ramen.

MUSIC VIDEO: The Swellers – “Better Things”

An unofficial music video created by a friend of the band The Swellers was just released for the song “Better Things.” The video contains pictures and videos from 2011 winter European tour with Broadway Calls and Into It. Over It., and it’s got a very nostaglic feel to it. The way the video is put together it has a very old time feel to it, which I think really fits the song nicely. “Better Things” is off of The Swellers’ 2011 release Good For Me.

The Swellers Reflect On 2011, Give Thanks, And Look Foward To The Future

It is the first of the year here in the United States and Michigan punk act The Swellers are celebrating with a new update/message to fans.

REVIEW: The Swellers – Good For Me

All in all, Good For Me is a very worthy album. It’s lovable, genuine and packs an unabatedly firm punch from start to finish, such that any minor faults such as the oddly detached tone of the singing may be overlooked. For long term fans, it ought to make for a welcome addition to the catalogue, and for any newcomers in search of something cool and breezy to spur you through the day, be well encouraged to give this a spin.

STREAM: The Swellers – Nothing More To Me

“Nothing More To Me” is set during the 1953 tornado that devastated Flint, Michigan. The focus of the song, however, is that of a relationship gone sour and the couple trying to mend things during such a disaster, as if the storm is almost a second nuisance.
