LYRIC VIDEO: Fun. – “One Foot”

Fun. have unveiled a lyric video for the song, “One Foot,” taken from their platinum selling album, Some Nights. You can check out the lyric video by taking a look below the jump.

The band has a number of tour dates later this month and June in Europe. After that they will head back to the states to tour with Tegan And Sara. Be sure to head over to their Facebook page for a full list of dates to see if they will be playing in your city this summer.

Seattle’s music and art festival, Bumbershoot, has been going on since the 1970s, but only recently have its headlining acts stepped up their game. The festival, which takes place August 31 through September 2, is headlined by fun., Death Cab For Cutie, MGMT, Kendrick Lamar, Heart, and Tegan & Sara – certainly, nothing to scoff at.

Now it seems Ben Gibbard is on a 2003 kick. First he got The Postal Service back together, and now, at Bumbershoot, he plans to play 2003′s Transatlantacism all the way through during their set. If only I could get fun. …

Fun. Go Platinum Once Again With “Carry On”

This weekend has been a relatively slow one as far as news is concerned, but at least today we have a new reason to celebrate the success of those who give their all to entertain us.

Continuing the year-plus success of their 2012 sophomore effort, Some Nights, the RIAA has announced fun.’s single “Carry On” has been certified platinum with sales surpassing 1,000,000 units. Maybach Music Group member Wale is no stranger to the freestyle circuit, but the artist he’s chosen to sample for his latest release may be making their debut in urban music thanks to this track.

fun., the same band behind last year’s inescapable hit “We Are Young,” have been sampled by Wale for his “Sight Of The Sun” freestyle. The track opens with vocals from Nate Reuss before moving into the instrumental which Wale absolutely crushes. One week after the successful release of their seventh album, Tegan and Sara have announced that they will be accompanying indie-pop group, fun. on their The Most Nights Summer Tour. In 2012 the Canadian twins toured with indie-pop groups The Killers as well as The Black Keys, and will be hitting the road again to promote their new album, Heartthrob. They’re calling it Comedown Machine.

What exactly is a comedown machine? It doesn’t sound very fun. Don’t you want us to have fun, Julian Casablancas?

Julian Casablancas, apparent hater of fun (but not that fun.), and company in The Strokes just released the title and artwork for their fifth album Comedown Machine. It looks like they’re going for a bit of a retro/vintage-y vibe with this one, if the design is any indication.
