Manchester Orchestra‘s Record Store Day split release with Frightened Rabbit and Grouplove has officially hit the web for your streaming pleasure.

Seeing as how it’s a RSD release, the split will be sold in stores on April 20. Follow the jump to listen to the split.

Talk show host Conan O’Brien introduced his musical guest last night, folk-rock act Frightened Rabbit, by stating the band came, “all the way from Scotland”. A bunch of shaggy, handsome young lads, obsessed with various matters of the heart and other less decent anatomical regions, who like to cause quite a ruckus with their maudlin stomp? Yep, that sounds Scottish. Like, the most Scottish.

The Frightened Rabbit boys did not disappoint during their Conan appearance last night. (They weren’t the only ones to put on a great musical performance yesterday during late night, BTW.) Running through “The Woodpile”, the …

STREAM: Frightened Rabbit – ‘Pedestrian Verse’

Scottish mopey indie folkers Frightened Rabbit have been going strong for years. Though to hear them tell it, they might be more inclined to swim out to sea until they can’t see land rather than keep kicking the can down the road with this whole “music career” thing.

With plenty of morose …

My Top Ten: Animal Bands

Without question, band names come in trends: “The” bands, Number bands. Animal bands, however, seems to have survived the test of time, spanning back as far as I can remember. Below, I have listed what I believe to be My Top Ten bands with an animal in the title.

Again, the rules are simple: Pick a subject and make a top ten list out of it. This week, for instance, I am planning to feature my top ten bands with an animal in their name. Note that the list is MY top ten. In no way am I attempting to …
