REVIEW: Foo Fighters – ‘Sonic Highways’

Artist: Foo Fighters
Album: Sonic Highways
Genre: Rock
Label: Roswell Records

Sonic Highways, the eighth studio effort from American rock ‘n’ roll staple Foo Fighters, isn’t so much a testament of a band reaching the pinnacle of its career as much as it is a band defining a sound 20 years in the making.

With a majority of the record comprised of maddeningly huge, arena-ready riffs, the record has moments of true and utter brillance; but those moments are compromised by the fleeting instances of lethargic and distasteful songmanship by a band held to the highest standard in …

Viewers also see a female protagonist in a sensual, emotional battle as the anthem plays.

Rise Against has been busy since the release of The Black Market — earlier this week word spread that the band has been tapped for main …

Foo Fighters Announce 20th Anniversary Bash On Fourth of July

There are few things more American than Foo Fighters — so why not celebrate the band’s 20th “birthday” by throwing a star-studded bash in Washington D.C. on July 4, 2015? Independence Day 2015 marks, to the day, 20 years since Dave Grohl released a record under that goofy moniker, Foo Fighters, which soon became a household name.

Slated to support Foo Fighters on the birthday bash includes Joan Jett and the Heartbreakers, LL Cool J, Buddy Guy, Gary Clark Jr., Heart, and more. There might not be a more American way to spend your Fourth of July.

Foo Fighters Release “Something From Nothing” Music Video

The jury is still out on whether or not Foo Fighters have a number one hit with their latest single, but earlier today the first track from the band’s new album made headlines once again thanks to the song’s official music video.

Released to YouTube at some point on Monday, October 20, the official video for “Something From Nothing” put the focus on both Foo Fighters and the lyrics to their latest release. The clip finds the band performing in an open space, with handwritten lyrics popping up onscreen as they are recited by frontman Dave Grohl. It’s …

Foo Fighters Stream “Something From Nothing”

The wait is over, Foo fans. The first song off Foo Fighters highly-anticipated new album has found its way online ahead of the record’s November street date.

Arriving on YouTube late Thursday afternoon, “Something From Nothing” showcases the latest evolution of Foo Fighters in just under five minutes’ time. It’s not the immediately catchy track many were expecting, but rather a slow burn effort that builds on a riff that sounds a lot like “Holy Diver” until everything boils over for a final hard rock jam session before things come to a close. I don’t think anyone could have expected …

WATCH: Foo Fighters Cover Black Sabbath, Melt Faces

Foo Fighters began their week-long residency on the Late Show with David Letterman last night and to viewers’ delighted surprise the band covered the heavy metal behemoth of a track — “War Pigs.” Originally composed and released by Black Sabbath in 1970, “War Pigs” is a politically-charged, giant and downright classic metal song…and Foo Fighters nailed it (along with a lackadaisical and somewhat out of place Zac Brown).

“Ahhhh, my God,” Letterman exclaimed when the track ended.

In case you missed it yesterday, the band released a trailer for their new HBO show, Sonic Highways, which begins later this …
