You Blew It Feat 2015

UTG INTERVIEW: Tanner Jones of You Blew It! Discusses Hyper-Personal Songwriting & Getting Robbed on Tour

You Blew It! have certainly kicked things into high gear this past year and half. In the time that most bands put out an LP and rest on it, this Orlando, FL group decided to slap on a Weezer covers EP and  four-way split onto their discography. At the very beginning of 2014, they put out Pioneer of Nothing through the highly-revered Jade Tree Records, then embarked on their first ever headlining tour, taking their catchy version of the emo genre to the masses.

After seeing YBI! perform in two very unique settings on subsequent days — that being their …

REVIEW: You Blew It! – ‘Pioneer of Nothing’ EP

Artist: You Blew It!
Album: Pioneer of Nothing EP
Genre: Emo, Indie
Label: Jade Tree Records

Jade Tree Records is one of the best record labels. If you just take a quick scroll through their releases over the past 25 (?!) years, you’ll see that Jade Tree bands simply just make great music. There are probably very few, if any, bands on their roster that I do not like on a pretty basic level. Jade Tree hasn’t been all that active over the past five to six years, but it appears that the label is gearing up to start releasing …

Axis Signs to Mayfly Records, Announce Tour, and Streams Song off Upcoming Album

Florida metalcore band Axis just announced that they have signed to Mayfly Records, and will be releasing a new album with them late this Fall or early Winter. The record will be tracked by Spencer Mattlin at Dino Rock Recordings, while it will be mixed by Taylor Young of The Pit. As Young is the mixer behind such bands as Incendiary, Xibalba and Twitching Tongues, you should know Axis is in good hands.

On top of announcing their signing with Mayfly Records, Axis also released a demo of a new song, “Discouraged,” which will be a part of their …

LAVOLA This Book is my Cowardice

Providing listeners with a healthy mixture of influence ranging from My Chemical Romance to The Blood Brothers, LAVOLA is a Florida post-hardcore act ready to turn heads through their own brand of melodic controversy. Gearing up to release a brand new LP titled This Book is My Cowardice on March 4, LAVOLA has teamed up with Under The Gun for an exclusive release of a band new track, “Dry Socket,” and an interview giving fans the scoop on the new record.

“Dry Socket” is one of the more particularly abrasive numbers off of This Book is My Cowardice, …

REVIEW: You Blew It! – ‘Keep Doing What You’re Doing’

Artist: You Blew It!
Album: Keep Doing What You’re Doing
Label: Topshelf Records
Genre: Emo, Indie

As someone who has written his fair share of album reviews, I always jump at the opportunity to take a look at the newest releases from bands on Topshelf Records. Their bands run the gamut of being anywhere from good to great to mind-numbingly fantastic (see The Lack Long After), and as such, you can expect a certain level of quality when listening to a new record. With You Blew It!’s newest record, Keep Doing What You’re Doing, we get to hear another …

Action Bronson (Literally) Slams Fan In Florida, Footage Available

Action Bronson made headlines this Spring for body-slamming a fan attending his Middle East Club performance in Boston. People were not upset about it, per se, but video of the event did make an appearance on every music blog from here to Dubai. Now, the man who recently rocked a retirement home has slammed yet another concert goer, and you bet your ass there is footage for the world to enjoy.

Recently, Action Bronson took his ever-touring self to Florida for a string of performances. During one set a fan made a run for Bronson between songs, and the …

UTG Interview: Rescuer

UTG caught up with JP Marra, the vocalist of Rescuer last week. The hardcore five-piece released their debut full length, With Time Comes The Comfort, through Rise Records just over three weeks ago. Just recently, the group embarked on their biggest tour to date: letlive.’s  headlining tour alongside bands like Hrvrd, Conditions, and This Is Hell. Throughout the interview we discussed the current tour, how the band is reacting to their album’s reception, and their new home at Rise Records.

New Found Glory Plan To “Go Away For A Bit” Following Current Fall Tour

Floridian easycore pioneers New Found Glory have announced today that their current Sticks and Stones 10 year anniversary tour is planned to be their last tour for quite some time. The band still has about two thirds of the dates left on their tour with Seahaven, The Story So Far, and Candy Hearts, so we would recommend buying tickets right now to see this band one last time before more of the tour’s dates sell out.

Follow the jump for a snippet of what the band’s frontman, Jordan Pundik, had to say in the Billboard article that …

Ronnie Radke Apologizes To Fans

The tale of Ronnie Radke’s misadventures in 2012 alone is one that would take far too long to recount. It seems like every other week since May we have found something to report on the Falling In Reverse frontman, usually in a negative context, but this weekend it seems Ronnie may have had a change of heart as fans in Orlando were witness to something even we at UTG have never seen Mr. Radke do. That night, Ronnie Radke apologized.

Now before you run for the pitchforks and begin crying foul, I must ask that you hear the guy out. …
