Kanye West, Liam Neeson, Tina Fey & More Added To ‘Anchorman: The Legend Continues’

The return of Ron Burgundy and his news team is arguably the most anticipated comedy event of 2013. Production for the December release is currently underway, and recently a number of celebrities have been seen on set that were previously unannounced for the film.

Kanye West was spotted shooting scenes in Atlanta earlier this week alongside Anchorman: The Legend Continues stars Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate. The three were reportedly filming on a rooftop somewhere in the city, but no further details about his appearance or how it will play into the plot have been revealed.

West is not the …

DAMMIT(?): Jeff Daniels Confirms “Dumb And Dumber To” Is DEAD

A few months back the internet exploded for an hour or so over news that Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels had officially signed on to make a sequel to Dumb And Dumber. The film was set to shoot in August, but TMZ is now reporting that Jeff Daniels has proclaimed the film “dead” following the exit of Carrey (who thought the studio was not as excited about the project as he would have liked). Is this good news? Is it depressing? I guess at this point we will never really know what might have been, but I get the …

HOLY SH!T: Cast And Plot Details For “Hatchet 3″ Revealed

If there is one horror series that the UTG staff loves above all others, it’s Hatchet. Brought into the world from the mind of Adam Green, the tale of Victor Crowley has been one that both modernized and rejuvenated the slasher genre, and today we finally learned a bit about the series’ third chapter.

Currently being filmed in the swamps of Louisiana, Variety reports Hatchet 3 has landed a who’s-who of slasher film legends to round out the cast. According to an article that went live today, the (potential) new victims includes: Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), …

Francis Lawrence Signs On To Direct “Catching Fire”

The man who brought us I Am Legend and Water For Elephants, Director Francis Lawrence, has officially signed on to direct Catching Fire, the second film in The Hunger Games series.

Rolling Stone has the story, which claims Deadline noted Lionsgate had also considered Moneyball director Bennett Miller and Spanish filmmaker Juan Antonio Bayona, but only Lawrence could work within a timetable that would allow the movie to hit theaters by the fall of next year.

Forgetting Water For Elephants momentarily (though it did look great), I think Lawrence could definitely capture the world of Catching Fire better …

DAMMIT: “Raging Bull 2″ Begins Production This Summer

Lots of cool remakes and sequels have been funneling through the pipeline recently, so it only makes sense that a bad decision or two would make the cut. Call me crazy, but the decision to green light Raging Bull 2 was one such mistake.

Moviehole has the exclusive, which reveals Raging Bull II plans to chart the early days of Jake LaMotta’s life, and then pick up again in the days after the end of Scorsese’s film. De Niro will not reprise his role as LaMotta, which already makes me weary, but legendary actor William Forsyth has stepped up to …

HOLY SH!T: “Anchorman 2″ Just Became A Reality

Deadline is reporting that work is officially beginning on the long-rumored Anchorman 2.

The original story has very few details, in fact, it is merely a few sentences. We linked them twice, so I am going to go ahead and quote them directly:

The comedy Anchorman 2 will be produced under mogul Judd Apatow’s banner. Adam McKay will direct as well as write the script with Will Ferrell who will star again as Ron Burgundy along with the original’s castmembers Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. The movie had been a DreamWorks production but Paramount took over the project after

Evil Dead reboot CONFIRMED, production already underway (UPDATED)

Horror fans have been losing their minds for the past day following word from DreadCentral that Sam Raimi had secretly traveled to Detroit in order to begin making something related to Evil Dead. Bloody-Disgusting took the story further a few hours later, claiming Raimi probably wasn’t the director, but still left most hanging in excitement.

Well hang no more because we have the answers! Word is, Raimi DID go to Detroit for what is being called “quasi-reboot” of the Bruce Campbell lead Evil Dead series and production is (apparently) already underway. Directing the feature will be Freddy Alvarez, the …
