The Downtown Fiction Launch Pre-Orders For New Album & Stream “Kiss My Friends”

It’s hard to believe that after being together for seven years The Downtown Fiction are only releasing their second full-length studio album. That happens to be the case though, and the band will be releasing Losers & Kings June 17 via Fearless Records.

Earlier today the group premiered a brand new single, as well as launched a digital pre-order for the album. The new song is titled “Kiss My Friends,” and it’s available to stream below the break. If you’d like to grab the album, it’s currently available for pre-order on iTunes. You will receive an instant download of …

LYRIC VIDEO: Yellowcard – “Today” (The Smashing Pumpkins Cover)

Even though Punk Goes ’90s Vol 2 came out just under two weeks ago, Fearless Records is continuing their media push for the album. One of the covers on the album is by Yellowcard, and they recorded their version of The Smashing Pumpkins‘ hit single, “Today.” Less than 24 hours ago Fearless went ahead and premiered the colorful lyric video for that cover. You can check it out below the jump.

Yellowcard are obviously not in the same genre as some of the artists on this compilation. While it’s fun to hear “screaming” versions of the songs covered …

The Word Alive Launch Pre-Orders For ‘Real’

The Word Alive seem to only be getting better with each album they release. They are currently poised to drop their third studio album Real on June 10 via Fearless Records. Though we’ve only heard one single from it so far, it’s definitely very promising. Fans are understandably very excited to hear what else is on that album.

Though we unfortunately do not have a new song in our hands at the moment, we are happy to report that the artwork and tracklist have been revealed for Real. In addition to that, the band has launched physical pre-orders for …

The Color Morale

The Color Morale Sign To Fearless Records And Announce New Album

It’s not very often that we see a band secretly hop from one label to another, and yet here we are today with the news that The Color Morale have signed to Fearless Records. There is zero word about Rise Records and whether the group’s contract has ended with them or not, but considering both are major labels based in the US, it’s hard to imagine the band will be sticking with both. You can check out the official announcement video for yourself below the jump.

Included in the signing announcement, the band confirmed they are currently working on their …

Review: ‘Punk Goes 90s Volume 2′

Artist: Various
Album: Punk Goes 90s Vol 2
Genre: Rock/Compilation
Label: Fearless

The Punk Goes… series has lasted long enough that counting how many installments exist at this point usually requires a trip to Google or Wikipedia. It has become an annual event of sorts, like the mixtape version of Warped Tour, with alternative music fans impatiently waiting year-round to figure out what theme the scene’s top talent will tackle next. This spring that theme is the 90s for the second time in 8 years, and the results are as mixed as ever.…

Guitarist Caleb Turman Unsure Of FTSK’s Future

Things aren’t looking good for Forever The Sickest Kids. In a recent interview regarding his new band, Team, guitarist Caleb Turman admitted that he was “moving on” from the four-piece, and additionally said he was unsure of the group’s future. You can read a piece of said interview, originally conducted by PropertyOfZack, by following the jump below.

The Texas-based outfit released their third full-length, J.A.C.K., last May through Fearless Records, and for the most part has been inactive since debuting a music video for their single, “Nice To Meet You,” this past December.

Mayday Parade

Mayday Parade Add A Modern Twist To The Bush Classic, “Comedown”

The release of Punk Goes 90s Vol 2 is fast-approaching, and this morning another promotional single found its way online.

Following the release of Get Scared‘s take on “My Own Worst Enemy” and the absolutely dreadful cover of “Closer” delivered by Asking Alexandria, Mayday Parade‘s version of the Bush classic “Comedown” is a grunge-tinged ode to the height of 90s radio rock that is going to have you reaching for the repeat again and again. It’s a cover even fans of Gavin Rossdale can appreciate, but still performed far enough within the wheelhouse …

Watch A New Trailer For ‘Punk Goes 90s Vol. 2′

Punk Goes 90s Vol. 2 will be released on April 1, and Fearless Records have made a new trailer to evoke the atmosphere the decade and set up the mood. You can stream the trailer after the jump.

If you listen closely, you can hear short clips of Mayday Parade covering “Comedown” by Bush, and the previously released Get Scared and Asking Alexandria covers of “My Own Worst Enemy” and “Closer,” respectfully. After hearing that abysmal rendition of Nine Inch Nails’ most well-known song, I must say that my expectations have been set.

What track are you most excited about? …

WATCH: All Time Low Perform “A Love Like War” With Jenna McDougall (Tonight Alive)

All Time Low are currently overseas in the middle of a short UK leg of the A Love Like Tour, and to kick things off the right way, the band performed their most recent single and tour namesake “A Love Like War” with Tonight Alive frontwoman Jenna McDougall.

“A Love Like War” comes from the 2013 reissue of the band’s well-received 2012 full-length and return to form, Don’t Panic. The studio version features guest vocals from Pierce The Veil’s Vic Fuentes, who performed the song with the band during their time on A Day To Remember’s House Party arena …

What The Hell Have Asking Alexandria Done To Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer”?

The promotional run for Punk Goes 90s Vol 2 continues today with the release of Asking Alexandria‘s cover of the classic Nine Inch Nails track, “Closer.” It’s dark, violent, loud, and guaranteed to piss off the vast majority of Trent Reznor fanboys.

Opening in such a way as to reference the original without being an exact copy, the first half of Asking Alexandria’s take on “Closer” is a fairly by-the-numbers take on the song all lifelong alternative fans have committed to memory. Around the halfway point however, the band’s heavier influences begin to show, and the remainder of the …

WEEKLY WAX: Vinyl Releases For The Week Of 2/16-2/22

I don’t know what you’ve been listening to this week, but on the rare occasions when I wasn’t playing The Hotelier‘s excellent new album, I was alternating between the new Menzingers single and “I Wanna Get Better,” the first song from Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff’s new project, Bleachers. Conveniently (or not, if you ask my wallet), all three of those artists launched pre-orders for new material this week, and they weren’t alone. The last seven days also saw pre-orders for Oh, Common Life, the third album from Michigan pop punk band Fireworks and probably the most …
